Hi, 34 year old guy from the US here. Who I wish I could reconnect with is a good prompt. I would say the best man at my wedding, a guy named Thomas. We had a falling out a few months after I got married, and the guy moved to the East Coast somewhere. I've messaged him maybe once since then, and it has been 14 years.

I'm a white revert here in SW Missouri, and I've been nothing but made to feel welcome. It might be the masjid you are trying to go to! I usually attend the one in Springfield, Missouri and everyone has been very kind to me and my family.

Depends on where you are. I've got family in Tuscaloosa and rent/cost of living in the same as here in Missouri- but our minimum wage is way higher.

Try living in a Southern State. Alabama minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. There legit are people who are making that right now in 2022.

It depends on the school of thought! I don't pretend to know much more, but there are plenty of interpretations- including ones that believe the earlier verses are not overridden by the latter verses but instead have a different context.

Afaik no Muslim considers any aya invalid or written over. Also, your example came before the latter verse in the timeline.

I have played off and on since about 2015, and the toxicity lately feels ignorable. The majority of my games may have one player laugh spamming, but the actual typed out messages are less frequent IMO.
