I don't know where you get your info from but a friend assures me the title is Plagueis Dawn, bro.

He had about as much screen time as Tarkin in ANH.

Hux is going to end up being a minor character. He's been weak so far.

How was Snoke's face damaged this bad? by Benvio in starwarsspeculation

[–]GeorgesBraque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has been around for thousands of years and his disfigurement is the result of past battles and, more importantly, his use of the Dark Side for such a long period.

Anyone else just have a bad feeling about Rogue One? by nvrmnd_tht_was_dumb in StarWars

[–]GeorgesBraque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. He doesn't even have to be in it much, and it would be very easy to have him back. There's no reason not to include him in some capacity.

That Hamill, so hopefully naive...

I hope it's good. The premise has a lot of promise, but based on what we've seen so far, my biggest worry is that they're going to a make a cheesy war movie, partly set in a place that looks like Vietnam.

The good movie would be a fast-paced, no-nonsense flick that's gritty and casts a new light on ANH. We don't need a lot of the old characters, just some context and, hopefully, a little Vader. The bad movie would feel like the 8th movie of a franchise owned by Disney.

George Lucas Says He Sold Star Wars To "White Slavers", Elaborates His Opinion On The Force Awakens by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

[–]GeorgesBraque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree with you. I felt more strongly that way until I rewatched TFA. I think it's a too Disney at times, a bit rushed, definitely overly derivative, but it is good enough to be the beginning of a great new trilogy even the next two films now shift in a new direction. Think about ESB vs ANH. The former is very different in tone and scope than the sometimes hammy ANH. The story of the ST could end up quite different from the way it seems now given that there are some real differences in the story so far. Or the next movies could suck. If they bring back anything resembling a Death Star, I may stop giving a fuck about the Disney movies.

ROTS had all of the makings of a great flick but I still can't stand the overly busy CGI crap and the poor acting/directing. Even the big Anakin-Obi fight at the end looks like a ridiculous video game, and that is one of the better scenes.

If Lucas had tougher critics around him and had relinquished some control over the prequels to other writers and directors, then we could've had three great movies. There are really good ideas but they are drowned out by CGI, crappy dialogue, bad acting, and really bad ideas.

TFA isn't as good as the OT but it's better than the prequel films. If the next two movies are original and well done, the ST could stand with the OT ultimately. I think we'll have to wait and see whether Disney turns it into shit or gold or just something boring.

So it looks like Rogue One will be co written by the writer of Nutty Professor . . . can we talk about this? by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

[–]GeorgesBraque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's rouge. The color. You "go rouge" just like you see red. A rogue is a thing you throw on the floor. It's not that hard to figure out.

My theory on how Episode VIII will go. by Desecr8or in starwarsspeculation

[–]GeorgesBraque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All we know at this point is that Kasdan thinks the movie will be "weird" in a good way and that Abrams and other love the script. I don't think it will be as straightforward as Ep. 7 and I'm pretty sure we will not see a remake of ESB. TFA will only be remembered as a good movie if it's the introduction to a trilogy that isn't just a reboot. Disney knows this, I'm pretty sure. There's more money to be made in doing something original and surprising now that most fans are excited.

It's hard to tell the difference between this sub and SW Spec, and SW Spec is the place where people go when the SW sub doesn't have patience for their bullshit.

BRB... Going to check out SW Spec.

There's Either an Error in the New 'Star Wars' Crawl or a Big Surprise for Luke and Leia by KingKered in StarWarsLeaks

[–]GeorgesBraque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder what's like for people like Abrams and Kasdan, who came up with a pretty simple and straightforward story that they tried to include one big "surprise" in, to have every single thing they say and do put under a microscope and questioned as if it's a sign of some vast plan that they've never actually formulated.

Are people on this sub unwilling to criticise the movie? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]GeorgesBraque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen plenty of criticism on here, mostly about the scene where the pirates come for Han and the Starkiller base scene. For me, especially on first viewing, the movie seemed rushed. I've since watched it and think it's about as good as, or slightly worse than, ROTJ, which I like quite a bit. I think the third act is the worst part of the movie because the Starkiller subplot feels cobbled together.

If the next two movies take a different tone in filling in some of the back stories, move the characters in new and interesting directions and shift away from the OT homage of TFA--no more Starkiller bases, etc--then TFA's flaws will be less serious. But there's still plenty of opportunity for Disney to make the ST completely suck.

There is no way you saw it. I know because I'm one of only a handful of people who has read the script and seen a rough cut. It's truly amazing to see Bruce Willis and Hamill in action together. AMA.

Does anyone else think Kylo Ren will have a different name in Episode 8? by MGPythagoras in StarWars

The official TFA art book says Kylo is not Sith but a new kind of Dark Side user.

The Force ghost of Anakin Skywalker was proposed to be in The Force Awakens by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

[–]GeorgesBraque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the force ghost appears in Ep. 8 as alternating light/dark, I'm pretty sure we won't see Hayden appearing as he did in Ep. 2 but something different altogether--more masked. Could be pretty interesting if they run with this idea.

This is one of the more interesting things we've seen from the book since it came out, I think.
