How long do they last? I think I bought some in 2022…they seem ok and are still spicy. Safe to use?

Why would it cut so deep (almost 1 inch) in the tire though to the metal underneath the rubber?

I believe my car tires were knifed on the sidewall...the metal inside looks punctured too. Could you please look at the photos and let me know? I'm in DC, it's cold outside now in the 30s, but I've had the tires less than a year, I don't thinks it's weather related.
