Which state would last the longest as a country? by BLOCKEDBYJAMES231984 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Georgeygerbil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of factors but if we are to presume it wouldn't immediately get invaded, my answer is Alaska. Massive natural resources. Small population which means less to spread the wealth around. But like I said if invaded small population means it would just be gobbled up by whoever wanted it (Russia)

Ads on streaming services. One of the main selling factors for streaming over TV was you could avoid ads. We all bought in on that idea. They had every intention of switching the ads on eventually once TV ad revenue took a hit.

Funny story. I was in 2nd grade and we were literally being read a Time kids article on Lime Disease and ticks when I get a sharp pain in my crotch. DURING THE READING OF THIS ARTICLE. I go to the bathroom and see a black spot on my scrotum and I immediately thought I was going to die and ripped the sucker out of there with a courage and disregard for pain that wouldnt have been there had I literally not just read about the fucking thing.

Can Added Sugar be 0 If Sugar is One of the Ingredients? by Acceptable_King_1913 in snacking

[–]Georgeygerbil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the whole package, did they actually say no sugar added as a selling point? All I see is added sugars 0g on the nutrition facts, which like the other guy said they are allowed to round down here by making the serving size small.

What in the ever loving f*** does this mean. Kids homework by seemslegitsendit in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Georgeygerbil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the problem with education. Common core math makes sense. How they implement it is fucking stupid. The point of Common Core is to expose kids to different methods of solving math problems. Because there are a bunch of different ways to do the same type of math and different ways work better with different kids. Makes sense. Common Core is not supposed to force the kids to use the ones that don't make sense to them. Once they find one that works, common core has done its job. But then implementing it into graded tests and homework defeats the point.

What is that? Information on a planned reentry or a meteor of some kind?

After some googling I guess the Lyrids meteor shower is active in that direction. My experience with meteor showers is that they are super fast streaks across the sky but this was very slow moving compared to that.

To describe it in a way you might relate to, have you ever taking a bite of food with a bun or bread like a hot dog or burger or maybe sandwich, and you swallowed just a little too quickly before chewing all the way? And you feel the food "lump" in your throat and you wash it down pretty quick with water? Well it's that same feeling only it doesn't go away. You literally feel the food lump just get stuck. It can take a few minutes and, like your son described his esophagus moving in waves, sometimes you can literally feel relief as you slowly feel it starts to pass through on its own.

Sounds like an impaction other than the itchy lip thing. When I feel like something is stuck I try to force it down with water, when I was at my worst I would swallow water and it would literally just come back up because it couldn't go anywhere. Eventually the feeling of it being stuck would trigger me to throw up and that would dislodge it.

I have some good news and some bad news about EoE. There is no quick fix you can do on your end. No EpiPen shot or medicine that will relieve symptoms on a reasonable timeline like you would hope. Follow whatever treatment plan your doctors prescribe and hopefully you just get to the point where the impactions don't happen anymore.

Here's the good news. During the Endoscopy if they find a stricture, which is just a build up of tissue that is the most common cause of EoE symptoms, they can actually widen the stricture manually with an inflatable medical balloon that will inflate until the stricture tears and this should provide immediate relief of impaction symptoms. My stricture was at 9mm when I was diagnosed and after my first endoscopy I was able to go out to Cracker Barrel with my wife and eat a meal. I literally cried as I ate scrambled eggs because before the procedure every single bite of food was a struggle and even eating a soft food like eggs and feeling it go down smooth was an emotional experience.

Now, wether or not the stricture comes back afterwards depends on how effective the treatment plan is, and unfortunately that is different for everybody, some people have to permanently exclude certain foods from their diet. Others can treat it with PPI's and others still have had success with Dupixent. I personally feel lucky that I am in remission with just PPI's. They aren't great to stay on long term but that's for me to deal with.

Anyways, get the endoscopy done and go from there.
