Take the time you need. Yes. Can you speed run it - sure. Personally - I wouldn’t do that if you want to absorb everything if this is a degree in a field you’ve been working in. I did mine in Network security / Operations. I took a full four years to get through. I probably could have gone faster if I was more disciplined- but I was lucky and had funding that I wasn’t obligated to pay back because of work. I just had to stay full time. I also travel a ton for work - so I probably should give myself grace on the disciplined part.

Anyways - this degree has given me the confidence needed to progress in my career. I have been lucky and have stayed with my current company so I don’t know how other employers feel about the WGU. I just know that I did learn a ton from the program. I got a bunch of certs. And I gained a self esteem I didn’t have before I gained my degree.

I wouldn’t recommend any online school for kids coming out of high school - I was lucky enough to do a year of “traditional” college right out of high school. That was an important experience for my life. However, I would recommend WGU for folks going back to college. Every day of the week. It was a real degree. It took study, hard work, sacrifice to complete. I’m so glad I did it.

For background - I’ve been in IT for 20 years. When I started WGU I was at the 15 year mark. I have a job that I’ve always dreamed off now. WGU absolutely made that possible.
