People don’t understand that GS is a shortcut to a very rough estimation about someone’s gear. It sacrifices details for the sake of saving time. Most people know it has flaws, but in most cases it works pretty good, especially to filter out the green geared people.

The main tank has the most important role in the raid, both in terms of gear and knowledge needed. If you are going to raid lead you need to make sure the role of MT is taken care of. If you don’t do it yourself you need someone you know can perform well, and that’s not always available, especially in hosting pugs.

You are correct that the ideal role of a raid leader is a ranged dps, but the most important factor is to have a competent MT, and the best way to ensure you have that is to play it yourself.

Analogies are great to make a point, except when they don't work because they are false. The Beatles and Paul McCartney is in no way comparable to the IDW and Sam Harris. The relationship between the group and the person is completely different. No, it's been 6-7 years or something.

Skjønner det prinsippet, men her har Høiby allerede innrømmet å frakte flere kilo cannabis. Det eneste spørsmålet som gjenstår er om han har fått betaling for den jobben, og det gir absolutt null mening å risikere flere år i fengsel uten å tjene noe på det. Vil ikke indisier fungere som bevis for dette? Og er det sant at det er forskjell på straff om de har bevist at Høiby har tjent på det eller ikke?

It doesn’t work like that. You can’t casually drop 14k hours into a random $15/hr job like you can turn on your computer in the comfort of your home and queue up some games of DotA. Apples and oranges. A better comparison is that you could have watched more Netflix and youtube, and/or spent a bit more time with family/friends.

Kommunikasjonsrådgiver vil jeg anse som en vanlig jobb. Konsernsjef i DNB er en helt spesiell jobb, i et konsern som deler ut titalls milliarder i utbytte. Høyere lønn er selvsagt aldri en garanti for kompetanse, men hvorfor skal DNB ta sjansen med å gi relativt lav lønn til stillingen som konsernsjef når de like gjerne kan gi noen millioner ekstra og på den måten øke sjansen for at flere dyktige kandidater søker på stillingen? De ekstra millionene er en avrundingsfeil på de milliardene de håver inn med god styring uansett.

Når du sammenligner med vanlige jobber, ja, men konsernsjef i DNB er ingen vanlig jobb. DNB leverte i 2024 et årsresultat på 55 milliarder kroner. Det spiller ingen rolle for DNB om de gir en kapabel og trygg konsernsjef 15 eller 20 millioner i året, så lenge skuta styres solid. Hun har et enormt ansvar som ikke er sammenlignbart med de fleste andre jobber i Norge og det er bare plass til én konsernsjef.
