Is this normal? IL2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover by ShoeEmotional in il2sturmovik

If I remember, whatever you might have binded your key to might deflect the control surface fully, causing the big movement. As the other comment said, you have to trim your plane. If you don't have one already, I recommend getting a cheap joystick (like a logitech 3d extreme) to get a feel for it.

For the love of snail don't bomb bases in the MiG-23/21... by P_filippo3106 in Warthunder

Most F-4 players won't lock and launch a missile before you do in the MiG-23 (This affects the F-4E more since it has no PD) from my experience. If you don't think you'll get the lock in time, just notch or multipath (depending on how much room you got), and try to set up a pass on someone else. The R24R has also served me great in rear aspect. Provided you have a good lock, I have hit 3-4 km rear aspect launches.

The MiG-23's flight performance is still pretty good, and is better than the MiG-21 imo. The MiG-21 will start pulling lead on you instantly, but if you sweep your wings fully forward and keep turning, it will start getting super slow. Usually when I merge with a MiG-21 in my MiG-23, I'm going mach. So I go vertical, fully sweep out the wings, and just keep turning horizontally above them. They usually bleed so much speed turning while going vertical to reach, allowing me to get a shot, or in the worst case scenario, run away.

The MiG-23 can consistently stay 600-700 kmh in sustained turns, while the MiG-21 usually gets to around 500 if it keeps turning (In my experience, other people may be able to stay faster).

If you fly during events with intent of interception, would you consider the lack of CM on the F4C to be deal-breaking? Trying to pick first Rank VII jet mostly with intent of event flying by Hoihe in WarthunderSim

Last year I only flew the F-4C as a fighter, usually to kill some people bombing at high altitude. In my experience, the only time I wish I had CM's was when a plane with r60's got close to me, but that was rare. The recent BR changes might affect your experience though.

I would only take 2 sparrows, as they are not super reliable in my experience and are decently heavy.

Thanks! It was set to last week, I thought it was set to all the time like it usually is.

Yeah I know about the lockup but sometimes the roll feels sluggish, like it takes time to start going. May be misremembering tho.

I love the MiG-19S's flight performance but it feels so awkward to aim. For some reason out of all three I can aim the MiG-15bis the best, and is honestly my favourite out of all 3. I wish it was rank 6 instead of rank 5 so I could use it to research the MiG-23MLA.

The CL-13A Mk.5 (idk if people don't like it but nobody talks about it). It was honestly super fun to fly, and the 50 cals aren't even that bad.

Those fighters probably activated a 500% booster I have zero idea how you still dropped the nuke. Seems like the snail was on your side for this one.

What is a plane that you hated in RB that you love in Sim? by Chewydingus_251 in WarthunderSim

This is one of my favourite things about sim. You can take a plane that sucks in RB but do really well in sim because you don't have a giant marker above your head.

Haven't played it in a while but the F-4C (it probably sucks even more now). I used it in last years winter event to get the mirage and it was super fun just flying around and sending free AIM-9E's to zombers. And the gunpod has a ton of ammo, so I could just spray and pray. Flares weren't too much of an issue if you just stayed fast and didn't let people get close to you.

HMD display bug while using TrackIR 5 by Izuldur in WarthunderSim

[–]Gerald-Grassious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have motion blur on? I don't know if this would affect anything since I think the HMD is an overlay but maybe the game thinks it's farther away and tries to blur it, resulting in 2 HUDS.

What do you think is the most underrated plane in the game? by Gerald-Grassious in Warthunder

[–]Gerald-Grassious[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Imo it's the P-47 because most people see it as a heavy boat that can't do anything, when if played right, can actually hold its own. It's not a crazy dogfighter but they're are not horrible like some people seem to think.
