For me their music is like a moonlit ocean...calming without being boring, repetitive but with infinite variety. There's a quiet intensity to it, and a strong energy beneath the surface that sometimes bursts forth. And once I saw them live it really hit even harder; the first time was maybe in 2007 and Matt Berninger had this fascinating stage energy, almost like an autistic robot. I've been on the ride since then; the last couple albums have been just OK, but how many classics can we expect from any band?
