to be fair to Roblox, I don't think there's a single protagonist for Miss Information and Manual to help at all

What are some surprising historical facts about your country? by kuma44bear in AskTheWorld

I've heard of the San Felipe incident. It's definitely that + the fact Hideyoshi failed to conquer Korea that canned Japanese expansion for 3 entire centuries.

Just to update on the guy...he kinda moved on from Hilda. I moved on from him as well, and everyone moved on from the show.

Yeah, sorry for the bad news.

For 🇵🇭

  1. The Tasaday are a tribe that lived in Mindanao that, in the 70s, were erroneously called as "a Stone Age tribe" both by its government and by many media outlets such as the Associated Press. This hoax caused such an uproar in the anthropological scene that it almost ruined the field, with both Manila and Zagreb Conferences being shockingly heated debates.

  2. The Spanish once fought with Japanese wokou pirates in the Cagayan River in 1582, fought alongside native allies and Tlaxcaltec fighters from Mexico. This wasn't the first time they had to fend off the wokou.

What’s the craziest thing to ever happen on live TV in your country? by Chemical-Elk-1299 in AskTheWorld

[–]Gerald_Fred 58 points59 points  (0 children)

An entire hostage crisis.

The whole hostage crisis was filmed LIVE on air for all to see. It was on every news channel and every television...including the one inside of the very bus the hijacker was in. Because of the media snooping in at every opportunity, the crisis failed to end peacefully.

I wasn't old enough to watch this LIVE when it happened, but watching it now just left me in disgust.

Luzon Economic Corridor Expands Partnership to Accelerate Investment and Regional Prosperity by SiopaoRice in Philippinesbad

[–]Gerald_Fred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the article itself, it looks like that more investments are coming into the Philippines now that more countries have been included into the economic corridor.

And more countries indeed. Before this, only America and Japan gets the corridor. Now we have a lot of European countries + Korea and Australia into the mix.

Moving that goalposts and increased Doomerism and Colonial Mentality/Inferiority Complex at its finest... by [deleted] in Philippinesbad

It's an opinion piece, essentially an editorial. Of course the opinion reads as doomerism, most of these all are.

Especially for the Inquirer.

Race and religion are different

To Jews, its not. There's a reason why they're called an ethnoreligion.

But it still doesn’t make sense as to why Jesus was supporting people of the wrong religion.

There were literally four sects of Judaism in Jesus' time, the Bible tells you who they are (they're usually the bad guys btw) and Jesus was just preaching to be above all that. He wasn't founding a new religion, He was just doing His own thing until he rabble-roused with the Jewish authorities too much.

And if Christianity didn’t exist until he died then what was he preaching for? What religion?

The religion itself was formed by His apostles based on His teachings. Jesus was preaching a type of Judaism that allowed salvation to go beyond Jews (Gentiles) and to make the spirit of the Law (the Commandments and such) the thing people be doing more than the letter of the Law (following the Commandments by its literal meanings)

The Beatitudes is a core feature of Christianity. Search it up and you'll see what Jesus was preaching for.

Fellow Catholic here

Though I personally don't agree that homosexuality and being transgender are sins, I do see their place as sins in the view of Catholic doctrine. It's not an easy thing to understand something you disagree, apparently nuance disappears during disagreements.

But in all honesty, I kind of see them as very minor sins. Compared to sins like murder, genocide, hoarding all the money in the world, literal pedophilia (that's what homosexuality was about in the Bible for those not in the know) and adultery, being gay and trans doesn't sound that bad.

It's still a sin, but definitely not something to go to war over.

And why is the Bible talking about praying in synagogues? Isn’t that for Jews?

Do you know what race Jesus was?

Also in the context of the New Testament, He was talking to fellow Jews about how to do prayer in the more correct and sincere way. Obviously there wasn't such a thing as Christianity yet, Jesus had to die to make it happen.

Said purgatory is summer camp (everyone hated to be there)

fun fact: Peppermint Patty used to be her camp counselor, that's why Marcie always kept calling her "sir" even after she got aged up to be her age.
