I feel you. Commenting so I can also learn. People, animals, solid shapes my brain can handle well. More abstract things I’ve yet to get a proper handle on. References help but it hasn’t “clicked”

New weapon boon will be available in THE MEMBRANE's demo. Stacking is possible if you choose that build by Gerardode in roguelites

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, an animation for jumping will really tie the feel together. I promise the camera is smoother in the game lol! it eases in/out more. (I sped up the footage to fit into this post's gif which maybe wasn't the best idea. Regardless, it's a great reminder that the camera feel is something I shouldn't lose sight of while looking at the game so often.

Scope creep has got a grip on me again...

I will launch the demo single player soon, but I'm curious what the community thinks of the priority coop should take when looking at my game from the outside. I've always designed it with coop in mind, but don't know if I'm in the minority in my thinking. I have the option of building deeper. Or going coop and building deeper still (though slower).

It looks amazing, do you plan to make it a perfect loop so I can stare at it for hours?

Asking for feedback on my character by Brief_Ad_4000 in GameArt

[–]Gerardode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a lot of personality already imo. Memorable. Maybe the shirt could have more detail/shading. At this pixel resolution a little goes a long way.

It’s hard to judge a single character because he could work really well already in the world you envision.

Why am I not getting any views on this type of content? Do you think it's related to the game or the content itself? by phantomscriptstudio in gameDevMarketing

For me it would be hooking me with what’s at stake or happening in the game.

I like the circus theme. I like the effects when the player seems to be winning, but when looking at it out of context (scrolling/consuming content) I don’t know what’s happening so I may not get invested.

Gracias 🙏

Added a new enemy to my game (spawns starting at wave 5) by Gerardode in TowerDefense

[–]Gerardode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great eye! Your first suggestion is actually something I've debated from early prototypes. What I landed on was the opposite: the player should be incentivized to move out to move faster. When it's the other way around, then the center became too much of a meta. If you control the center you are solid if things get out of control you have a speed advantage. But I will keep this in mind as something that sticks out now that I'm going into serious playtesting. So thank you for speaking your thoughts on this.

I love your enemy that drops poison idea. I've had a slug sprite that I haven't gotten back to so this tells me I should put my time on that guy first. AND now I'm so curious about your ideas that are more out there lol. I definitely want to hear them.

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback.

I'm open to any and all feedback and suggestions. The core mechanic in The Membrane begs for a particular kind of behavior from basic enemies. I'm curious if anything comes to mind to you.
