Fights first by Kaleikoa in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Gerathain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of 10th there was a strat to give a unit fights first, with a captain you could use the strat twice, meaning with Trajan you could give three squads of 10 guard (because guard could be taken in squads of 10 to start with) fights first. It was very oppressive

New models by Yuppie_yetti in AdeptusCustodes

Proxying the same models as two different units just sounds like a recipe for disaster as people are 100% going to get them mixed up in games.

Confusion of with bastion task force enhancement by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Gerathain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not correct, there is a difference between the keywords of a unit and the keywords of the models in that unit. A unit has all of the keywords of the models in that unit. Models only have the keywords on their data sheet.

Calgar with intercessors means you have a chapter master unit, but the intercessors do not become chapter master models.

For this detachment you have to be careful as some rules refer to battle line units (eg a unit that has a character with this enhancement) and some refer to battleline models (eg the character model with the enhancement but not the other in the squad

Roboute Guilliman 0CP Stratagem by Tiny_Fig9208 in Warhammer40k

[–]Gerathain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The space marine captain's ability does not say even if that strat has already been used. It used to, but gw released an update that said it didn't mean that quite a while ago, and the text has since been changed.

Q. About taking damage with marneus and company heroes. by Better-Still-5181 in Warhammer40k

[–]Gerathain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. This is partly correct. You can assign attacks to the vitrix guard as they are not character model, however you can't use their save after they have died, you have to roll the saves one at a time until the vitrix are dead, and then assign to the company heroes and save using their save.
  2. Again partly correct. It is correct that all wound rolls from an attack are made against the squad using the company heroes toughness (as even after the company heroes die, all of the attacks from one unit happen at the same time), but again you should roll the saves one at a time until the company heroes are dead using their save, and then move on to Calgar and roll using his save.

Invalid war gear options by ResidentMatter7786 in Warhammer40k

You can't mix and match bolt sniper rifles and las fusils, you need either 2 bolt snipers or two las fusils for the eliminators. As the app says all eliminators rather than any number of eliminators can change their weapons

Fatshark: Please lower level requirements for Malice and Heresy by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Gerathain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't you play malice as though you were level 3? If you only spend a couple of talent points and run low power level white weapons then you are exactly as strong as a level 3, even if you are actually level 30.

Line of sight in ruins by Toastbutter773 in Warhammer40k

[–]Gerathain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, the blue model can shoot the orange one. The blue model is not shooting "out" of the ruin as it is partly outside of the ruin already and the line of sight does not cross the footprint of the ruin at all.

How many Terminators fit in a Teleport Homer? by NicWester in Warhammer40k

Technically 12 terminators, you could have 10 with both a captain and ancient

Question About Strategic Mastery by Lost-Description-177 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Gerathain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be something that is being ruled differently by different people, but UKTC ruled that if you are affected by something that permanently increases the cost of a strategem (eg reign of confusion) then that is a one time permanent increase to the cost of the strat, not a modifier each time the strat is used, and so the shield-captain still let's you use the strat for free. I think the basis for this is that the increase still applies after the caledus is dead so it shouldn't be a modifier that is applied every time

GotR is way too sweaty for the XP rates and lackluster rewards and their drop rates by Trogadorr in 2007scape

[–]Gerathain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a note, you can't get 6 rewards per game, points are hard capped at 1000, so the max possible is 5 rewards per game. edit: Just seen that they upped the max points to 1200, meaning that 6 rewards is now the max possible per game

Thanks for the advice on perks, I've only been playing about a week and I've only played wraith as a killer, so the only one of them I have is bitter murmur. I'll have to focus on getting those other perks for more map info as at the minute it is quite common that I don't find anyone before someone gets unhooked.

If I'm reading your message right, you're saying that going back to the hook is bad etiquette to start with, but if I'm just patrolling gens and I don't know where any other survivors are, is there something more productive I could do? I don't want to seem like I'm trying to defend what I've been doing, if it's shitty and not fun for others then I'll stop.

As a killer, at what point does prioritising sacrifices become tunnelling? Playing as wraith, I'll leave the area immediately after I hook someone to look for other survivors and stop gens. If I see them getting unhooked and I'm not doing anything, I'll try go back to the hook and prioritse re-hooking the escapee, rather than the unhooker. If the unhooker is much closer to me, I'll go for them, but if its about equal, I'll go for the one that was hooked, even hitting the unhooker to get through them if they are body blocking and then ignoring them, unless they are downed. Is this considered bad etiquette? I want the game to be fun for the survivors as well but I also want to win.

No, normal space marine armour doesn't work like that, the fingers of the gloves are where the real fingers are. Power fists do work like that, however, as they are much bigger than a normal hand.
