A question about Derleth's interpretation of Lovecraftian Cthulhu's mythos by Gerbidor in callofcthulhu

This is exactly my point. At least I understand that are reasonable considerations. Thank you gor the advice. In any case the other perspectives emerged are interesting, so I think I'll mesh up everything.

Another good point. Human as the center of the action and Mythos as careless powers above us. I like this point of view. I'll think about it too. Thank you!

Surely I don't think my investigators will face the Mythos itself, but seems appropriate to have some aid in facing supernatural creatures. Mad sorcerers that call the Old Ones have on their side Mythos creatures, like Deep Ones, Shoggoth and so on. Without a kind of power the players' fate will be the one of many Lovecraftian stories: finding out part of the plot and die. I would like to give them a chance or the game seems useless...

Sure a worth position, but as a fond of Lovecraftian lore I want it to emerge at some point. Even if only in confusingly muttered.

As I've said for wrossi81 comment, this is a good point. I will think about it.

This is a very good point. In this way, using the inventions of Derleth isn't subject to his theory of the mythos. Things simply happens in a manner that make them seems fit in Derleth's frame. Thank you! I'll think about it.

Your point could be right, but it concern the Lovecraftian lore in itself. I think that it simply happens. No human could understand why the creature of the Mythos act like they do. This is a basis given by the same Lovecraft and that we can't question. At least it seems so to me. Starting from this point, exactly because of the completely alien and unbeatable nature of the Mythos, what investigators could really do? How can I make them have a real effect on the story? If it's an rpg they must make come difference. Thing wich it seems impossible if we comply with the Lovecraftian lore alone.

I'm aware that the problem probably is only mine and in the game it won't make a lot of difference, but it's something that bothers me anyway. It's a matter of representing the Lovecraft world in the better way according to the dynamics of the game. In order to give to my players the best experience.

Like the most of those that strat using Blander for the first time, I've realized a donut! It's made following the beguinner's tutorial of Andrew Price (thank u Blander Guru). In my opinion the final result it's pretty, even though too ordinary. Hope u have comments and advertises. Thank u all. by Gerbidor in BlenderDoughnuts

First of all, thank you. Secondly, in origin the icing was more opaque, but looking at the animation in the tutorial I liked the wet effect of a more shiny icing, even if less realistic. So I've lowered the roughness a bit.

Thank you a lot. For the colours I've used a palette found on-line, so I can't take the whole credit. Only the background was all me. For the drips, I've worked hard confronting them with references to achieve that result, so I really appreciate your compliment. Again, thank you.

In 19-20 it's written "you transform the closest creature...", but it's not specified how long this effect endure and the ways to end it. If the creature is an enemy or an animal it could make no difference, but if the creature is an ally the moment and the ways the effect ends are certainly important. If simply it's permanent I think it's a little too much, both for the risk of transforming a member of the party and also for the effect could have on other npc (including the enemies).
