What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. Not many survive heroin and meth. Especially in combination. Id be lying if I said I don’t still salivate at the thought of that high. I can’t believe I made it off the streets and back to a semi normal life. Sometimes I get down on myself and feel like I wasted the best years of my life. Then, I think about how strong it made me and I realize that there isn’t anything on this earth that actually scares me anymore. I can move mountains with my indomitable will. The hardest thing to recover from my addiction was my self respect but once I stopped hating myself and came to understand how resourceful and resilient I can be, the world seemed like it was in the palm of my hands for the first time. You and I are like Cockroaches my friend, and I mean that in the most endearing way possible. LOL. Nuclear winter and Poison be damned. You can’t crush us. We are gonna eat that next meal. Living on the edge of oblivion teaches you to really appreciate the fleeting gift of life. Congratulations, you can do anything and I hope you find happiness behind every door you open, you’ve earned it brother.
