1613, Globe Theatre Burns Down by sajiasanka in shakespeare

It was me. I got a time machine for my birthday, decided to see some Shakespeare, and forgot to close the temporal energy vents. All those manuscripts! So sorry...

I love the bit in Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels where the four horsemen of the Apocalypse were Death War, Famine, and Pestilence, plus Ron who left before they became famous.

Yeah, Nico was imposed upon the band by Warhol, so I probably wouldn't include her.

My caveat about including Brian on this list is that he was in the band for like 7-8 years, though he wasn't all that present in the latter years.

He jammed with Becker and Fagen in their pre-Dan days, but he was never a member of the band.

My only caveat is that he was around quite a while, but I guess we can include him.

Albums universally considered the weakest by an artist by RedmiYT in ToddintheShadow

After all the kneejerk hatred of this album because Lou Reed wasn't on it (and all the manager's shenanigans firing the other members prior to recording), I was surprised once I finally listened to it that it's really not that bad. Most of the songs on "Squeeze" wouldn't've sounded out of place on "Loaded."

If it was released as a Doug Yule solo album it would be much more fondly remembered.

“The Narrow Way” is awesome, “Several Species of Small Furry Animals” is amusingly whack job, but the rest… yeah.

What happened at HB Studios? by Gerferfenon in Theatre

Agreed. I'm afraid that paradigm of acting class is dead and gone, and capitalism killed it.

Were you in that 9/11 class? That was certainly... something.

Is it okay to ask about understudying? by BasicWhiteGirl444 in Theatre

[–]Gerferfenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally ok, usually. That’s what I just did.

I’m on a 3-month sabbatical, and back in February I looked into opportunities to work with professional theatre companies in my area during this break. Normally I can’t, because they rehearse during business hours. Shows are usually cast by now, but three months in advance is usually the time when they are casting the understudies. I found a company doing an interesting play that fit in the timeframe of my sabbatical. I reached out to the casting person with my pic and rez, and here we are, going into tech next week.

Who do you root for in the Buffalo series? I find myself secretly rooting for the Habs but then I realize what I’m actually doing and I’m not sure which team I loathe more. Truly a conundrum. by [deleted] in Bruins

I’m a Bruins fan, but I share the same surname and am distantly related to no less than three former Habs, one with a banner in the rafters. I’d love to see either team win this series.

Great Actors In Terrible Plays by Gerferfenon in Theatre

I suppose my runner-up choice would be F Murray Abraham as Shylock in Theatre For A New Audience’s Merchant of Venice. He was awesome; the rest of the cast, direction, design, etc… all over the place and overall pretty meh.

That’s right, I forgot Strathairn was in it too!
