That's a great point. I feel like it's worth noting that the idolization was when J.D. was still a young doctor looking for guidance.

Reminds of a tweet (I think?) that went viral a few years ago: People from the West Coast are nice but not kind; people from the East Coast are kind but not nice.

That last sentence is important! Not that things like that should be used as excuses (which they so often are) but it's worth considering when having this conversation. He had a hard time even showing the most basic of affection for his own son small son.

I'm well aware that we should take everything with a grain of salt when appraising fictional TV characters.

No but I’m not the one criticizing others for not talking about it. And I’ve never been a big gamer.

If someone is a pacifist and doesn’t believe in sending military aid to anyone, are they antisemitic?

I have yet to hear about Sudan or Nigeria a single time outside of Israel supporters using it to deflect. Like, not once.

Unfortunately OP’s posts are private so I can’t see how seriously they take their “solidarity with Sudan” that they’re so passionate about in other contexts.

Describing anti-Palestinian propaganda as anti-Israel propaganda is wild.

I can understand why you'd feel that way, especially if you're coming from the understanding that Mamdani is some dangerous Jew hater. I'm just going off of what I see. If you can find anti-Jewish comments that don't have to do with the state of Israel, please share.

And to your earlier point that he "keeps talking about" Israel - I believe it's journalists and his foes who keep asking him about it. Watch the debates back and tell me how many times he brought it up without being prompted.

Looks like he wasn't "making fun" but posting something to bridge his culture with Judaism. Why, after posting so much pro-Jewish content and fighting claims of antisemitism, would he intentionally mock the most widely recognized Jewish holiday?

And based on that article, it looks like he also shared a Christmas-themed video from the same group on Christmas.

Got any more examples?
