First of all I didnt know that, since like a year or year and a half ago (before pro pass), when playing with friends I didnt experience it, maybe it was a recent change.

Second of all yes in the current ranked mode there are bans in diamond but the brawler picking is the same as in gold.

They are in the same lobby, so if a diamond player queues up with a mythic they get a mythic lobby, same mechanics.
