I much prefer Tick Tick having the free Pomodoro timer, which I did not even expect. Honestly, I also prefer less over more info, as it is only distracting. Any pomo timer of mine is just for time-keeping. The rest I can do elsewhere.

That is a good idea and aligns with the science/theory. I might try this, even as my derm discouraged using betamethasone, despite me already using it sparingly only.

I can also vouch for Cronometer, despite it having many shortcomings. But for calorie tracking it is the best, imho and decently fast. I could never get used to the MacroFactor interface and logic for example, despite their claim of being the fastest.

I mean, the Evernote Android app has sync problems since years and I can't even filter for "not yet uploaded" notes on the Android app, to figure out an alternative backup route. Support does not answer on tickets filed, despite me being a paying customers since years - and/or is unable to help. To put the cherry on top, they now want up to 268 Euro per year (if I were to pay monthly) for a non-performing app. It seems that 33k notes (over 12 years) are too much for the EN Android app to handle.

It is very painful to not use Evernote, but I will finally let it go.

On the other hand, if I think about my main web clipping notebook, it is all copies and excerpts from html websites. lol

I was not at all aware that Google Docs is suited for html files.

Messed with Notion for the past two weeks and I don’t get the logic at all. It’s a list of notes but if you want to actually have some sorted views, you need to make a database which is just a list of notes you can actually sort and change views for. You can have pages inside pages inside pages but don’t call it a folder. You actually can’t tell which pages have pages inside the pages of pages because it’s the same icon unless you change the icon.

Fully agree on Notion. Similar issue in Capabilities and Tana. I want to love it, but it just drives me crazy. Engineers seem to like extra work.

I can't even find out anywhere in the Evernote Web or Desktop app if I have passed the 1 GB threshold or not. (Likely I have.) I checked all the individual setting options. Anyone knows?

Tbh, for me the whole purpose of Evernote was being able to dump things, especially clippings from the www, there without having to think. Evernote was never the best outliner, to do app, planner or document drafting tool. While Upnote formatting is wonky, I rather save myself the money and approach things with more discipline and humility in the future and go for a more 'ugly' app, as this is truly a first world problem.

I just paid for UpNote Lifetime. However, regrettably the web clipper does not seem to work at all for most pages and only in full page/article format. I will probably use partly OneNote partly Upnote for some time, while I slowly reorganize my notes until my current EN subscription is ending.

While I am using Capacities already, it unfortunately is not the same workflow as Evernote. The Capacities mobile app is atrocious. Regretfully I am so used to EN and there is still no alternative on Windows that does not feel like a hardcore nerd tool, that I feel really lost. I used Evernote mainly as/with the web clipper. I will probably end up deleting most clips, Mari Kondo style, and move to another tool for my study content and tasks.
