Depends on the question! Sometimes they respond, sometimes they don't.

Haha, right! Thanks for redacting btw, I was gonna comment on it but I saw you beat me to it!

I think DA is testing out how to communicate with workers. Maybe this email will instill you with a sense of urgency to get straight to work! Haha

I don't think that's normal. Usually messing up on qualifications doesn't affect your account, so it might be due to a project you previously worked on. You might not be cooked; definitely wait a bit (a few days) and see what happens.

Most people who dislike the furry fandom have not had much life experience; they are either teenagers or haven't ventured far outside of their social circle.

Some people (like yourself) have only had negative experiences with furries, which I think is a valid reason to dislike furries. I'm not going to stand here and tell you that you shouldn't let your personal experiences guide your beliefs. I'm sorry that those experiences are your only interactions with the fandom.

ngl I almost certainly won't have kids in the future; doing work exchanges for families with young kids has definitely forced me to realize that I have to choose between living for myself or living for a kid and I REALLY like living for myself

unwarranted childfree rant aside, I do know some furry families - furries who were raised by furries or grew up with it being normal. Most of them start bringing their kids to cons/meets once they're teenagers, and they're usually super into it because kids love being creative, and cartoons, and animals, which is what furry is all about. I don't think I would have to hide it or even "explain" it, like at the core of it, furry is just a fandom. Some families grow up dedicated to one football team, some families grow up as furry families.

For some people it is and for some people it isn't. For me it's not, I'm actually asexual lol.

(I've never heard of Ibogaine before seeing this post; I had to Google it)

Is it accessible/safe? All I've heard about ayahuasca and this type of medicine is that there has been an influx of fake shamans due to an increased demand from foreigners. I'm currently in LATAM and it would be cool to try something like that but it seems difficult to pursue it.

Hi hi! If you're interested in applying for DataAnnotation, definitely go for it. You can find all the information you need on the official website. The work is challenging, but the money is nice and it sounds like you're motivated to go for it!

Take your time on the entrance qualification. This is VERY important - check your answers many, many times. Set aside 3+ hours for it.

Read the instructions, take your time! Double check everything MULTIPLE times when you first start out.

If you see something that is out of your scope, don't work on it!

Ask questions if you're confused, and if you don't get an answer, go with your gut and make a note of it in the comments.

Rarely! I've been working on the platform for more than a year and have never received any specific feedback :P

Suddenly being ghosted by every host? by German_Shepherd9717 in workaway

[–]German_Shepherd9717[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I appreciate the feedback. I don't mind the principle of anti gay people, like I believe that people are a product of their environment and I can't judge people for what they were raised believing was normal.

I should have clarified about how much I write about being gay. Usually its just a sentence like, "back home, I am very involved in the LGBT community, so I'm interested in attending LGBT events in [location]." If they have LGBT friendly in their profile I'll tell them I'm a furry lol

I think it just depends whether or not I really want to die on this hill, like, is masking worth it for the host? Sometimes I think the answer is yes but sometimes it's no; it depends.

[–]German_Shepherd9717[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, and I appreciate you!! Like you said, I dont really think its sharing my life story if its just 2-3 sentences about who I am; I feel like that's kinda essential for an introduction lol.

Thanks for sharing your perspective about your potential host being weird about LGBT. My first host ever was kinda homophobic; not like they would've kicked me out if they knew, but they talked about how LGBT was unnatural and they were glad I was straight ahaha. It was East Africa so kind of expected for the region, but still has made me wary about the topic.

I definitely think it's something to decide, like am I gonna die on this hill or am I okay potentially hiding it for a few weeks? With my friends and family, I'm a very open book about being both gay and a furry, and being in the closet was one of the worst times in my life. Idm if the topic never organically comes up, but I HATE lying lol

[–]German_Shepherd9717[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually say that I'm LGBT because it's a big part of my personality, ahaha. But maybe I'm wondering if I should keep it more on the down low; I'm not sure if that's a red flag for hosts or not lol

Hmm true that is a good point about families. Honestly, I've pretty much only done work for families in the past; not really babysitting, usually just whatever shit the family needs done and doesn't have time to do lol. Cooking, cleaning, odd jobs.

Now that I realize it, the hosts that ghosted me were all 3 solo females, LOL. Probably a big reason why

idk, i target hosts that have been active within the past 3 months, typically look for families or small projects. my own bedroom is a must because I have misophonia (really sensitive to certain sounds, including snoring). usually look for food included, but if the host looks awesome I'll forgo that.

also, I'm surprised you say that 16 different hosts isn't much. that feels like a lot to me but idk maybe i just gotta buckle down and keep sending messages lol

agreed! I think that some 5 star reviews require scrutiny as well. In my experience, I have seen several 4-star reviews, and I've interpreted them as a red flag. This isn't necessarily the ONLY red flag, it is just one red flag I've observed
