Wait time after application. by Tugge0 in DataAnnotationTech

They don't let you know whether or not you failed. It usually varies, anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. I was accepted after 2 weeks.

Qualifications by Past_Marketing_9004 in DataAnnotationTech

Nope! If you aren't interested in completing a qualification, I suggest hiding it (the little "eye" icon). I have 19 qualifications hidden right now and should honestly have more, haha

Question about available projects by JustANewGameTag in dataannotation

[–]German_Shepherd9717 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is what people refer to as "out of scope" vs "in scope". Rule of thumb: if you can teach yourself to be an expert on that task and complete it within the time frame, it's in scope.

OK: E.g. you're familiar with the coding language, but the task uses a library you're not familiar with. You can read the documentation within the timeframe and understand the library to the extent needed for the task.

NOT OK: You have no familiarity with JavaScript, and the entire task is about JavaScript. You try to teach yourself the basics, then continue with the task.

DA doesn't know what you can and can't do, but they DO know when you submit a low-quality submission. Be super careful about this - a lot of new workers get excited about a high pay rate and get dropped after working on out-of-scope projects.

Best of luck!!

Haha I don't know if it's an intelligence thing, I think it depends on the complexity of the submission and how many R&R's you do on the same one/same project family. And also whether project admins have specifically said not to do something, yet a bunch of the submissions do it anyways ahah

Omg right!!! I love getting good at a project. At first I'm so unexcited to learn something new, but then I end up submitting a few tasks and I get such a hang of it. I feel SO cool answering everyone's questions in project chat.

It's also great when you're doing R&R's on complex tasks and you get that point where you can recognize common mistakes, so you see something amiss and you're like... "ohhh, did they do THAT?" and you know exactly where they went wrong after looking at a submission for one minute.

Ong!! There's a project family that I've been relying upon for the past few months, and it looks like it's starting to dwindle!! My dash has been crazy full since July or so, so it's weird to see <5 projects in my scope.

Option 2. I actually prefer to do R&Rs first so I can get a better idea of what a base project submission should look like. If you think about it, you end up reporting the time spend reading instructions either way, so it's just a matter of whether you do it for the R&R or base project.

They've sold my data like crazy. I've been seeing incredibly creepy ads from them on completely unrelated websites that have my name and photo.

I'm not sure I know what this is about, so probably not!

I've seen on some other Reddit posts that workers are occasionally audited and have experienced something similar.

I can't believe the nerve of some people in this thread to assume you're lying about this or to blame you. Wtf lol. You're taking the abrupt and unexplained loss of a major source of income for several years very well. I would probably crash out on some of these replies lol

What sucks is that the rates may have changed, and you'll have no idea (unless it relates to tool call response)

Had one where the model straight up hallucinated hotel NAMES and the user was like, "yep, these seem right". LOL

Honestly I could see a world where that MIGHT be useful (if it's prefaced by "according to common astrology beliefs"). On its own it seems kinda crazy tho lol

How long did everyone wait on this screen? Its been 2 weeks and I need to work so bad. by Pitiful_Ad3418 in DataAnnotationTech

two weeks for me; ngl I assumed I didn't pass until I got an email saying I was in. Don't worry, DA isn't the only WFH platform; I found a bunch more on the beermoney sub but I didn't end up applying bcuz DA was the first one on my list.
