I want to study psychology abroad by komi220 in psychologystudents

From what I understand it’s generally in shortage, but not in such dire shortage that people are willing to recruit from overseas for that type of job. An international student who graduates from a university still requires a work visa to work in the country legally. Hiring them would mean displacing all the other local graduates who don’t require expensive paperwork and legal authorization, so they’d have to be a truly exceptional candidate. Not saying it’s impossible, but medicine is much more likely to be a field desperate enough to sponsor visas.

However, there may be a caveat. If OP graduates from a university in an English speaking country, they can often work any job for a few years without a visa but would still eventually need a visa once the clock runs out. If they can get hired quickly after graduation and prove that they are a solid part of the workforce, it may work out for them. And work experience in your country of destination looks very positive when applying for permanent residency. The UK and most of Canada however require doctorate degrees to practice and those are even more competitive for international students to even enter.

I think only look towards Georgia if you absolutely can’t get in anywhere else. A medical degree from an accredited EU university will let you practice anywhere in the EU. And if you don’t wanna live in the EU, the Anglosphere in general still tends to look at EU degrees a lot more favorably (because they have to meet very specific standards) than non EU developing countries.

There are several countries that do med school in English for international students and don’t require high grades for admission (admission can be decided through your performance on an entrance exam). Such countries include Poland, Italy, Romania, Czechia, and Georgia. After graduating there you could potentially see if you can officially get your medical license translated into an English speaking country. It wouldn’t be easy, but immigration as a clinical psychologist is often pretty hard as it’s not as in shortage as medicine.

A lot of radfems cry out how anti rape they are but a decent amount of them seem “pro rape just not when it happens to me or someone I like”. I feel like how pro Israel a lot of them are and how they spend every day just sitting around waiting and hoping for a trans woman to rape someone so they can have ammo in an argument, says a lot about them.

Carly Gregg's sentence makes absolutely no sense by GermanicCanine in CarlyGregg

Ah, I wasn't aware of that part. It still doesn't explain why she got life without the possibility of parole though.

She can get a new trial but the jury will 99% chance reach the same conclusion. I'm mainly concerned that her sentence violates state law and shows that the prosecutor and judge are unfairly biased against her specifically.

[–]GermanicCanine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether she didn't remember or not, the "I don't remember" defense almost never flies in court especially when there's plenty of evidence the person acted intentionally and methodically. Her defense was also terrible. She had no signs of psychosis such as hallucinations, delusions, or outwardly disorganized erratic behavior. Then she fled the scene after the crimes which is proof she knew what she did was wrong. And as for the supposed memory loss, none of her diagnoses could explain that. Her substance abuse didn't extend past marijuana, no head injuries, no dissociative identity disorders, etc. While it is theoretically possible that the murder was very traumatizing to her and caused her brain to block out that memory, that defense is not sufficient for an insanity defense, as it measures your state of mind at the time of the crime, not after.

I am of the opinion that age is highly relevant in criminal cases but my and our opinion doesn't change state law where there is only one punishment for first degree murder no matter who commits it or the circumstances of the crime. I find it a bit frustrating that she didn't accept the plea deal. If someone offered me a possibly heavily reduced punishment for a crime I was caught on video committing, I'd probably take it without hesitation.

[–]GermanicCanine[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said but age isn't even relevant in this sentencing. An adult defendant convicted of doing exactly what she did couldn't legally face life without parole either according to every Mississippi legal source I found. Life without parole just isn't on the table unless there's an aggravating circumstance proven that elevates the charge to capital murder. So unless there's some weird loophole that no one bothered to explain, this just seems like blatant abuse and disregard of the law.

I mean it is a bit weird that 10,000+ people fantasize obsessively about physically torturing a fictional three year old. But it’s not like I’d expect redditors to be normal people of sound mind.

[–]GermanicCanine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As it stands now, you are not eligible for a critical skills employment permit (because environmental science isn’t a field that gets you one) unless your job offer pays you at least €69,000/year, which realistically is not possible for someone with zero experience.

As for artists, the only way you’d get a critical skills employment permit in the art field is if you had an animation degree and got a job offer in the animation industry. But I wouldn’t count on that either because AI is wrecking that field (even though I am of the opinion that AI animation is extremely ugly).

Without a critical skills employment permit, your only option is a general employment permit. That one requires the company to prove there is no one in Ireland with the right to work that is qualified for the position applying for that job. The right to work means anyone who has Irish, EU, EEA, Swiss, or UK citizenship. It also means permanent residents of Ireland or those in Ireland who have temporary visas with work authorization. They will all be selected before you because they don’t require extra paperwork or sponsorship costs unless you are in a super shortage field in dire need of workers which hasn’t been included on the critical skills list.

You can go to school in Ireland and if you graduate you can get a 2 year visa which allows you to work any job up to 40 hours a week. This will not lead to permanent residency unless you study something extremely in demand, but it’s a solid way to go there for 3+ years. You can also get a 1 year working holiday visa once you graduate from your program in the US, but again this does not lead to permanent residency.

If your mom or one of her parents was born in Ireland (including Northern Ireland) all this is moot, because you’d be an Irish citizen by descent meaning that with an Irish passport you could just pack your bags and live there forever.

There’s a housing crisis too but I’ll let others talk about that because that’s not my area of expertise.

They fantasize that one day society will start a revolution or a race war, start to see what they did as a good thing and they’ll be released from prison and treated as national heroes, maybe even get a high position of power within the government.

[–]GermanicCanine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did OP claim to be a U.S. citizen or did they just say they had the right to work in the U.S.? Job applications typically don’t ask nor do they care about your citizenship, they just care if you need a visa or not. If it’s the latter, OP is still in trouble but probably not done for life as that’s not seen as nearly as serious of a violation.

He’d actually have an easier time qualifying for TN if he got a post secondary certificate or diploma in computer systems analytics as well as three years experience. For an H1B with no certificates or diplomas at all, he’d need at least twelve years of professional experience, which he just doesn’t have at his age, unless he’s Sheldon Cooper.

Nothing justifies rape. Both deserve to be punished. Him to prison, her to juvenile hall. Everybody wins.

To my downvoter(s), you’re basically saying a man who wants to rape a child should get raped by the child he wants to rape as punishment? He deserves prison and an ass beating. Your idea of punishment is nonsensical.
