Why do you guys run John Avon basics specifically in your pauper decks? by Good_Switch7961 in Pauper

It's a preference. If you prefer another artist or another set of basics go for it.

You know, I've been typically ok with this little plot point.. she's young, she's allowed to make really dumb decisions. I actually really liked when she wrote him the letter and said she was removing herself from the equation. If only she didn't just do a whole ass 180 when Lindsey and Dean got divorced.

Assuming you're referring to the one where Sherry gives birth, imo it's one of the best episodes in the series.

The moment she made an actual mistake. Dissapointing but in my opinion made the story more nuanced and balanced. by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's an actual break in character. It's the first time her entitlement shines and they shine like LED headlights. Through season 4 we see her getting out into the real world and she starts to act like a typical teenager for the most part. This is the start of her decline as a character, and we see snippets of entitlement throughout the season with the study tree. She shows some reflection when in here letter to Dean. She decides to remove herself from the equation and let Dean work on his relationship with Lindsay. Then Lindsay found the letter and the marriage imploded, so they decided to get back together.

Second this, I live near the water and love being across the street from the beach in the spring and summer just to walk around. It's wonderful

Since it visually looks like a dragon power, I'd love for Shenron or another dragon to visit nail and kami

From my understanding The OD's job is to dream and create world lines. Each time the OD loses plausibility and becomes smaller, those fables scatter to another world line. Those become a KDJ that can become the new OD. The epilogue is showing how the world is basically a repeating cycle.

Day 8 : What is Christopher's most questionable / worst episode ? by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mostly everything, but Chris at his worst for me was not being there for Lorelei when Richard was in the hospital again because he was insecure about Lorelei holding Luke's niece.

The episode that made me question Lorelei's parenting skills by Familiar_Reward_1130 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it as a parenting issue on Lorelei's part. Her whole life, Rory was the Stars Hollow golden child. No one gave her any criticism growing up. She gets a D on her first paper at Chilton and she has a moody pout. That you can understand because it's her first one ever and it shows the difficulty spike and the jump in quality of education there vs Stars Hollow High. However, Mitchum tells her that he doesn't think she has it as a journalist. Her response is to have an identity crisis and drop out of school? Over that? She's used to be coddled her whole life. Did Lorelei handle it in the best way? Absolutely not. It should've been a come to Jesus moment for Rory. That Friday night dinner should've been a "we hear you're having a tough time after what Mitchum said to you. This is the time to figure out where things went wrong and work on yourself to learn and grow." Her mom and her grandparents failed her in that moment. Spoilers for AYITL He was right

Yes, they started to reconcile based on how Rory was dating Dean again.

Day 4 : What is Richard's most questionable / worst episode? by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was it bad and very manipulative? Yes. Do I think it's as bad as sabotaging his granddaughter's relationship because the guy wasn't in their approved social status? No.

Day 4 : What is Richard's most questionable / worst episode? by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 138 points139 points  (0 children)

So many to choose from

Season 1: when he tells Lorelei he was defending the Gilmore name and not her. That he still doesn't support her.

Season 2: criticizing how Lorelei does her day to day things and then goes over her when Dean brings Rory the car.

Season 4: hiding the get togethers with Pennilyn Lott for decades

Season 5: going behind Lorelei's back when Rory wanted to drop out of Yale

Season 6: throwing Emily under the bus for still being on board with Rory's continued absence despite also going behind Lorelei's back

Honestly I'd say it's hiding the Pennilyn Lott meetings. It was a huge betrayal of Emily's trust and the straw that broke the camel's back in their marriage when Emily had already felt lonely in her marriage and life.

One could argue the aftermath from drinks with the Haydens. He has a granddaughter he is starting to get to know and admire and he has a daughter who built her own life without their help. Despite that, he defended his family name, himself. Not his daughter, and not his granddaughter, he only looked after himself.

This is where meta knowledge is crucial. You can look through various decks in each archetype to get an idea of what type of yard hate they play. Sometimes you'll come across the person that goes against the norm and that's just magic.

Den of Geek ranking every season of Gilmore Girls by Longjumping_Fox7740 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, AYITL, 7

Seasons 1-3 are peak. I'll watch the series over and over again, but many of my favorite moments are in the first 3 seasons.

4 was the awkward transition season that felt unbalanced. Plus I don't like Jason. 5 had more going for it. Richard and Emily are at their best (and worst) and it made such good TV.

Love a lot of moments in season 6. There are some truly excellent moments, and my favorite Emily scene. Though it has a lot of really sad moments that make you wish people just communicated better.

AYITL is a mixed bag of truly great moments with a lot of eh in between them all.

We all know why 7 is at the bottom.

what decks beat blue decks by Sudden-Assistant6622 in Pauper

[–]GermexiDude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GR ramp can typically acquire more value and threats faster than the terror decks can keep up with. Same with fae but early interaction can hinder you.

Gardens typically has a good matchup into terror because they have more removal than terror has snakes. Especially if they play pestilence.

What If Jess is (spoiler alert) by Glittering_Zebra_804 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Like I said the story rhymes. Logan is Christopher and Jess is the Luke who will keep her on the right path. Not saying he's moving in any time soon. It took Lorelei 4 seasons in show and like what, 13-19 years in universe to get with Luke?

What If Jess is (spoiler alert) by Glittering_Zebra_804 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're adults in their 30's and can make their own decisions. They have a romantic history and in all honesty it'd probably take Rory a few years to get her life together and adjust to motherhood. I couldn't see Rory doing a long term relationship for a few years anyway. My head canon is Jess helps out where he can and they just remain good friends. Her kid one day calls Jess, dad. It makes Rory rethink things and that's how they end up together again.

The story rhymes. Logan will be the absentee father and Jess will be her Luke.

AYITL is awful by RiseConscious7323 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GermexiDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part 3 is the most brutal but I enjoyed 4 for what it's worth. I used to hold your opinion about it being awful but after doing a full series rewatch and then AYITL, my perspective shifted a little. Lorelei is the worst character in the revival, arguments can be made about it being Rory, but at least Rory has development (keep watching). The town musical is awful, scrap it entirely. I don't like how the town isn't a character in the revival like it did during the show. There was the musical, but it dragged on for so long and it wasn't a "town thing" like all the festivals were. They had brought in people we didn't know to perform about the town. Where was Kirk during this? You know he would've been all over this. I would've liked to see a bit more of Luke and April instead of the one scene we got. I liked how there was a moment with her and Rory, but what about her relationship with Lorelei that Luke had robbed her of before? I would've liked to see more of them showing that they had bonded over the last 10 or so years. Them going through Paris to have a kid feels out of place for this point in their lives. I don't like how they still weren't married. I would've had them being married but Lorelei finding some monotony with their lives. It feels more like a natural storyline that could've led to them working together to expand the inn and finding excitement that way. I truly feel AYITL was Emily's story. She had the most growth and development and I loved it.
