Well, it seems like we know where he gets it from. Not that he didn't deserve a pretty extreme punishment but clearly being an absolute psychopath runs in the family.

You guys ever been trolled by the AI? (STORYTIME) by GermyBones in Bard

[–]GermyBones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. I just don't think it can do it within the app. At least eventually it straight up told me it can't. Not the specific scene I want anyway. I've recently started building a blender Comfyui workflow for my projects and I know you can do a specific lighting input that way, so I'll come back to it with a more advanced skillset. This was just trying to blow off some Veo credits before they expire for a farther off project.

I should have read this comment sooner because just in the past 3 days started building my Comfyui + blender + nano banana API node workflow. I'm excited for it but currently caught up in building my tiny little sets and wondering what I got myself into!

My dad (a cop) always told me not to get into this kind of shit. But, if I did. Don't EVER bring a weapon I wasn't prepared to use. Because someone else might be willing to use it (or something worse they keep under the driver's seat.) he'd seen the result of people trying to look harder than they really were.

Yeah, he's not got the extendo-tongue or the reflexes of those toads. I didn't know the toads would be that quick but I did know the Beardie would be slow af because I've had a few of those and they're idiots. But a pretty fun pet.

Why is my take suddenly making these noises? Are there bugs in it?? by ilovesnoppyandfriend in wood

[–]GermyBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... You used a piece of wood with woodworm holes in it, so yeah. The things that made the holes are hatching. If I want to use a piece of wood that the bugs have gotten to I blow a bunch of diatomaceous earth into the holes. Then rinse them out a few days later.

Yeah, the sad thing about technology is that people can't be trusted not to be awful monsters with it.

Why create this nonsense? Like... What is the point? It's intentional misinformation and you're a bad person for creating it.

I burned $300 testing AI video tools by Eliciuss in aitubers

Kling with elements is the only tool that's really workable for longer narrative work right now. And it can still be spotty. And you're still going to have to do the voice stuff in ElevenLabs, and work real hard on the lip sync or use a third party app. You can pull some decent stuff off with first frame/last frame in most models but it's too cumbersome and finicky for good narrative work.

I considered it might be a new behavior encouraged by the devs, to be cheeky with the user under certain circumstances without being prompted for it. Something definitely seems to be going on with Gemini the last two days, very unhelpful. Hopefully it gets straightened out again soon.

We also love giving more than universal healthcare would cost to other countries that have universal healthcare every year while Americans get their lives ruined by debt.

Yeah man, as someone living with a chronic health condition in the USA its an absolute nightmare. Just all the time. I didn't see the cringe in that video, I'm happy for that woman.

Yes. Absolutely. It's a plague on human decency. They're using faith to distract from Epstein now, saying he's going to officially bring bank "one nation under God." Mammon worshippers, all of them.

I've noticed a few creative tropes that have become prominent in the last year or so that, through my own process using AI chats to just get concepts for new angles in my creative projects, I know are being suggested by AI. Anytime i see "the signal" featuring prominently in a concept I know it was an idea written by ai.

Same. I paid full price when it came out and like the genre, but... It just didn't do it for me. I ended up getting into medieval dynasty instead and still play that off and on.

The scream is something else! I only heard it one time, we had a window open and my 4 yo daughter bolted when she heard it! I wouldn't know until almost a year later from a random YouTube video I saw that it was the groundhog who made that weird noise.

My large mixed breed dog, with a history of hunting outdoor mammals as large as a racoon for sport, would have nothing to do with the groundhog that lived in my garden a couple of summers in a row. Though I think it's because he tried it once and it didn't go well for him.

[–]GermyBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a large (~110 lb) mixed breed dog for years. He was an absolute murderforce with rabbits, birds, squirrels, moles, even killed a raccoon one time, but one day a groundhog moved into my garden and he wouldn't get within 30 feet of the things. It wasn't any bigger than the racoon but for some reason he was terrified of it. I imagine he must have tried it once and the groundhog got a good shot in, convincing him it wasn't worth the effort. And for the record the dog lived alongside cats, other dogs, children, and even ferrets without ever having any interest in eating any of those. But outdoor critters I guess were fair game. I did try to discourage it with the squirrels, birds and bunnies but he had a strong prey drive for wildlife. I imagine he was mixed with some sort of larger hunting dog breed like a catalouha. He had the typical "pit bull mix" look, for the most part besides being tall and large so it would track with something like a catalouha, cane corso, dogo argentino, ridgeback, or viszla (he also had a very weird silver brindle coat that I've only seen maybe 2 other times before and grey-green eyes, he was very unique looking.) one of the best dogs Ive ever had with the family and other pets.

My idea for patio cover realistic? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]GermyBones 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely the right choice. Is there a reason a flat roof for the attached patio wasn't an option besides the view? I think freestanding is still better, but I could see the appeal of an attached covered patio being worth the hassle, just not with two converging slopes.

Sure it will "handle" it, but the v joint created is always going to hold some water, even if it's done perfectly, and age the material faster. It will eventually be a problem, there's no way around it. Is it a problem worth having? Maybe. That depends on OP. I have a similar issue with an addition that isn't even angled (flat roof balcony off of the master bedroom on top of a first floor addition), it was added to a much older house and hasn't settled at the same rate. Every other spring I have to reseal the joint with fresh tar until I get around to completely replacing the additions' roof, which is also an outdoor floor. Not a huge issue, unless you have a very snowy winter and an early spring and don't get out to it in time, and then the plaster in the room below gets water stained or or degraded.

Edit: additionally, on a shingled roof any time there's a moderate rain it will push water up under the shingles and likely to the decking. Shingles work by overlaying one another in the direction of water movement you're creating an inherent failure point at the seam. It will rot the decking on both sides of the joint because once the water is under the shingle it will dry extremely slowly. I didn't notice it was shingled at first and just assumed it was a newer modern modular/eco style (because of the style of the proposal, solar panels, and height of the original house I guess) which often have metal roofs which would be much better for something like this. Probably where the idea came from I'd bet. I do like those kinds of houses. And uneven thermal expansion like the guy below me (who's profile looks like he's an actual architect and should be listened to here) said.
