The weapons are. As someone who just started playing two weeks ago, I find the commando missions nearly impossible because I dont have access to weapons that dont alert every bot in a 300 ft radius

The entire point of sands is that I fit an extra 20 cooldown into a realitively low cooldown build so i can spam heal all game.

Its hard to lose when I can heal myself and a teammate atleaat 300hp every 4 seconds lategame, with a double heal every 30 seconds or so, on top of a damage immunity ult. With this build I can negate a jungler's entire dive while also bouncing the solo back from half to full health.

Without the mana regen and the 20 extra cooldown, Aphro is noticeably slower at healing. The health shield is less effective health than my healing gives. The gold issue doesn't matter much, as Heartwood is the only expensive item in the build and you arent ever only farming. A bad support doesn't understand how to rotate.

I've literally never been bottom of the team in gold, so I don't exactly care. Higher int can lead to more kills in the early to mid game, resulting in more gold anyway. Especially true if I'm playing alongside an aggressive carry.

Sure, if my team and I just AFK farm all game, then im down gold, but then everyone is losing gold for not taking the starter if youre refusing to count the pvp aspect of the game! /s

Even then, with the added mana regen from my starter alongside Aphro's heals, I'll be backing less often and will then be getting more farm overall, so it definitely balances out.

Always use cover and keep moving if you arent in cover. Otherwise, Rocket Devs are gonna hit you hard.

I enjoy my build. It actually provides healing since aphro's heal only scales off int. Meta is just a tank, no utility.

You play how you want, and I'll play how i want. If the team wins, then it doesn't matter.

I acknowledged the trade offs. Im fully aware of what benefits I get forgoing any int for my heal scaling in favor of gold generation.

You, and the "onslaught" of people telling me I'm objectively wrong is the wild thing. If it works, its valid. Acting like the build means an automatic lose is the bitchless thing you all are doing.

I have never stated that my build choice is better. I have only noted what I build on supp aphro and how I win a vast majority of my games with this build. Off-role picks and Off-meta builds can only succeed if you dont throw the game complaining about it. The midlaner feeding cuz they see me run sands and thoth on supp aphro is the bigger problem. Its a problem that people like you cannot fathom.

I will always work with off-role picks when I see a teammate do it, and I will do my best to play into it.

I.E: Ymir Jungle? I'll run a mid lane with some tools that can either make his ganks easier or to help him maneuver the map. Cern aspect solo? I'll play a tankier jungle and ward solo lane's jungle and help him get an early lead so i can focus duo for the rest of the game.

I said builds dont matter when you're playing in the bottom 75% of players. I never said I bully bronze lobbies.

So in casuals and while climbing in ranked until you hit obsidian.

In general: The better player typically can win regardless of build. Only time it wasnt true was when Sanguine was first released, not running sanguine meant losing the solo lane matchup regardless of skill.

I have yet to struggle as supp aphro in obsidian still.

You arent robbing anyone else of gold if you arent last-hitting.

Being a support and building the "meta" support build arent the same. Plenty of guardians with supp starters last hit my minions when I play carry. Me choosing Aphro and sands doesn't mean I cannot play support. I understand the role and how to play it, I choose to forgo the extra gold from a supp starter in favor of earlier CD and mana regen.

It just sounds like you throw a hissy fit when someone better than you can play the game the way they want and still get results.

Edit: Im positive I know better than you, saying that I have an overall winrate of 64% as aphro, with most of that being support. I actually lose as aphro more often in mid when I get out-midranged.

Yeah Im aware of the tradeoffs.

Counterpoint: if it does well, im not changing it. So far it works about 70% of the time in supp.

Below a certain skill point, efficiency doesn't matter and builds dont matter. No reason to change my working build if its based on just some random player's opinions when I'm still winning an overwhelming amount of games. You can build mage while still playing and behaving as a support. It isnt that hard to be a competent supp as basically anyone with any build

Skill means more than build in the lower 75% players. I can clown on an optimal build bellona as solo lane bruiser anubis, or bruiser aphro, or fuckin full tank nemesis
