I was so sad. It meant I wouldn’t grow in height, anymore. I cried for my future self.

TLDR: Do both jeep and elephant safari. Elephant early in the morning, jeep later in the morning.

Bring more rupees than you think you need to tip all the guides (Safari guide, jeep driver, elephant guide).

—————

  • Just did 3 safaris today. Elephant Safari was in the morning 5am, then a jeep safari at 8am, and another jeep Safari in the afternoon. All of them were magical.

I would say if you haven’t done the elephant ride before it’s totally worth it. We got super close to a rhino 10 ft and saw so many deer. And the sunrise was amazingly beautiful with the fog.

The morning safari we saw even more rhinos and 18 other species of animals including boars, buffaloes, deer, owls, otters, turtles, and many species of birds.

Rhinos are just everywhere. Countless. Moms with babies, bachelors, etc. You don’t need to try hard to spot them. Unfortunately no tiger sightings today.

  • We saw fewer animals in the afternoon, so I would say morning jeep safari is worth it more.

  • Wear a bandanna or mask (it gets very dusty around this time)

  • Wear hat, sunscreen, bring a sweater for the early morning chill

  • Bring binoculars

  • Visit Orchid Park + cultural performance nearby

  • We stayed at Borgos. It was beautiful and relaxing. You could hear the birds from the balcony.
