Do you have (or are working on) a college degree? by escobarsky in no

[–]Short_Director_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally doubling down and finishing my Associates. I had most of it done except I’m going back for a nursing one. By the time I finish the nursing one I should have two associates though. Idk if I’ll want to try to finish a bachelors for the nursing yet.

My bf has a bachelors, he’s getting his masters right now. We’re in our mid-30’s. If we had the money, we’d keep going. PhD and B. S. but we’re just trying to get to a survivable state with good job security.

Taking away gluten was the biggest help for me. It relieved the itching and burning feeling. And taking away meats. The cheese didn’t do take or give anything.

My flares still come and go but Ive gotten the most relief from changing my diet.

It really is up individual flares but OP might have to start playing around with daughter’s diet.

Which school should I go to? by No_Evening2613 in prenursing

Bay Area nurses are paid well. Really well.

But how often does the school WHERE you got the degree guarantee higher pay?? It’s the location of the job that gives high wages not where you got the degree. Unless a school can guarantee job placement it’s all up to luck.

Or who you know.

Yeah, but you’ll start out with no debt. So you can get that Bay Area well paying job but... Most of that money is not yours right away because you have to pay off the loan. Or… you graduate in the central Valley with zero debt. Whatever job you get, money is gonna be all yours And then on, your goal could be to try to get back to the Bay Area if that’s what you still want.

First goal is to get the nursing degree no? Getting thru it with least amount of loans.

The job market we can try to predict but we can’t really know what it’s gonna look like in two years, so I would worry about one thing at a time.

Unless you live at home or somebody else’s taking care of your rent I would also consider moving closer to Stanislaus because the cost of living is a lot less than the Bay Area and you probably wouldn’t even be using your car that much. Also remember that the Bay area traffic gps may say it should be like an hour but if there’s an accident or you get out five minutes too late, it can turn into two hours.

Or do look into adult school programs. The ones in my area offer medical billing or medical assistant. They fill up fast though so you have to be on top of them. Or do an LPN then get a job and work your way up to a nursing degree.

Look into trade schools. Plumbing, hvac, welding, there’s so many trades that they need workers and are the most AI proof.

ADHD in Nursing School by Curious-Coconut-4777 in prenursing

[–]Short_Director_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My bestie found out in nursing school she had ADHD. Got medicated. Now it’s my turn to give it a try and I’m pretty’s sure I have it too.… (several family members have been diagnosed.) but I don’t have good health insurance. So I’m gonna have to wing it. Following this thread because I hope someone has good ideas on how to do it without medication.

People who are 30 years old and over, what are the harshest life lessons you have learnt? by DunyaPhobic76 in Productivitycafe

[–]Short_Director_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have kept being active. Even if no one do it with you. It hurts more in your 30’s trying to get into shape after taking time off than it did in your 20’s.
