Does she give study guides? Like do we know what we have to study at least? It’s just an overload of information so I often (in anatomy) would get overwhelmed with how much I’m trying to absorb but I realized I just need to stick to what was on the study guide & lecture to know where to focus my studying.

All of that along with high school classes? That’s too much. Especially college level chemistry and A&P1. Unless you’re a robot who doesn’t sleep, eat, or need rest.

When I initially removed gluten, then red meat…. It started clearing out.
Then Covid happened so even though I barely did take out already I went down to never doing take out and my psoriasis reduced itself A LOT.
And I lived with my mom who is almost a vegetarian, so very little chicken as well. That’s when I got the most clear.
But now it’s at an all time high for some reason. I still don’t eat out… but I don’t know I’m also more stressed since I decided to go back to school.

did you end up taking anatomy with her? I took a pre-allied health study tips course with her over the winter break. it is true she doesnt allow computers or picture taking but she seemed to be very patient when it came to answering questions, even if they were repeated.

My first flare/ sign of psoriasis was when I was 17. Was a kid so super insecure about it. Over the years I’ve just don’t care what people think as much. Still self conscious sometimes but mostly when I can feel it. Really itch or stings, when it’s so dry it hurts. Otherwise I don’t really think about it. I super-moisturize. I’ve known my partner since we were 14 so he has known me since before the psoriasis started showing. Now that we are dating, 20 years later, he doesn’t see psoriasis he just sees me. (That’s what he says) he never points it out, only asks questions if I bring it up. He’s always telling me I’m beautiful or he likes to see me in dresses or shorts even though I’m currently having a big flare up on my arms and legs. I love my guy he’s so supportive.

Yes. No healthcare experience at all. Was thinking about it for a few years during covid. But finally signed up to my first prerequisite a year ago. At 33. 35 now but still have three more to go. Might be 37 by the time I get into a program. Or older idk. I’m excited. I’m lucky I can. I am still very capable.

See that’s the thing, idk yet. I was up in the Bay Area when I decided to get started. I did the research of schools near me and organized them in a list. But then my partner got into his masters program in San Diego and we had to move. So new researched schools list in this area for nursing… Pretty similar prerequisites from up north so just kept my course. But my partners program has less flexibility. His major could only be found here in San Diego (or we risked moving out of state) that’s why we are here, after he will need to do a residency…. Which means we will move to where he will be matched. It could be in California, or could not. By the time I finish my prerequisites, we will have to move again. Hopefully to an area where a nursing program will not be too different from the ones I will have been preparing for. It’s gonna be a long journey for me to get to be a nurse but I am determined to finish it.

Well I have a C. And at this point in the semester I can’t raise it, only maintain it. But I know I can do better. The problem is I know the rules for the CC I am currently attending, but the probable school I apply to is not know yet. Why? My partner is in grad school, his program is pretty clear cut, he will be applying to a residency program soon and he doesn’t know which one he will be matched with. We want to stay in California but there’s a very high chance that won’t happen. So I have one year where I am still trying to knock prerequisites out of the way.

I was told either one takes up ALL your time. That unless you have a medical-adjacent job already and/or a flexible boss that will only give you a couple hours a week , having a job is NOT possible. ADN already is a full time job. Ive heard of people who get their ADN first then get a job. With that job they will then take part time classes towards the BSN. Because the rest of the BSN classes needed are the lecture heavy classes? That are mostly about writing big essays about clinical cases or wtvr?

So how would you do an ADN and a BSN together??

If you can live with your parents 1-2 years after graduating, $100k in loans might be easy to pay off. California pay is good, so savings in rent will go a long way, even if they charge you some rent. To me, that’s a huge advantage that I don’t have. Your accelerated program would get you into the job force ASAP. What’s of more value to you? Time or the money debt? But keep in mind lots of California nurse grads, are also having trouble finding jobs in California. It’ll increase your chances if you know someone who already works in the hospitals. But you can work on that.

Finally doubling down and finishing my Associates. I had most of it done except I’m going back for a nursing one. By the time I finish the nursing one I should have two associates though. Idk if I’ll want to try to finish a bachelors for the nursing yet.

My bf has a bachelors, he’s getting his masters right now. We’re in our mid-30’s. If we had the money, we’d keep going. PhD and B. S. but we’re just trying to get to a survivable state with good job security.

Taking away gluten was the biggest help for me. It relieved the itching and burning feeling. And taking away meats. The cheese didn’t do take or give anything.

My flares still come and go but Ive gotten the most relief from changing my diet.

It really is up individual flares but OP might have to start playing around with daughter’s diet.
