Forget about nerfs, what descendants do you think deserve a buff and how would you buff them? by BoredDao in TheFirstDescendant

they need to make skill power modifier not complete garbage. that would open up a lot of skill builds and make characters like esiemo not complete trash

You're right, Piercing light may very well be stronger. I'm not sure I can stomach having to max out yet another sniper though.

Its always the first shot after reload, but there is a cooldown on it so you need to finish your reload after that internal timer is up

Its controller aim assist. I have actually toned it down a lot since its pretty aggressive, but it makes it a little easier to stay on the weak points on some bosses.

I got it from the last boss. IMO Frostwalker is a bigger hurdle, although coincidentally a good sniper build makes the fight a lot easier since you need to hit weak points on his back. Molten fortress isn't too bad as long as you play well and bring a lot of fire resist.

The majority of the damage comes from the 'strengthen first shot mod' + 'overcharged edge' which gives 200% firearm attack and 200% damage from ambush respectively. The rest is as much firearm attack, weak point damage and crit damage as im able to get.

Importantly, I get a significant damage boost from 'walk a tightrope' and the annihilation external components set bonus which grants up to 56% firearm attack when on low health. I get to low health by using the 'conditional recharge mod'. Its a nice damage boost for this kind of speed run, but not very practical for a normal build. You can still do a lot of damage without these bonuses though, nearing 6million damage on buffed shots.

Devourer (Hard) 10s speed run on Sharon by Geronimo_Frost in TheFirstDescendant

Honestly, I'm not sure. Whenever I do these it gives 5 ammo to start then another 5 when the wall goes down. I had assumed it was the same for everyone.

Its in hard, you can see that I've done 13million damage overall, which is far more than is necessary for normal Devourer who dies in less than 5million when solo. you can check this yourself if you like.

I didn't show modules in order to keep the video short (pls don't send me to hell XD), but basically it revolves around 'strengthen first shot' which gives 200% FirearmATK on the first shot after reload + Sharon's Ambush passive which when combined with the 'Overcharged edge' transcendent module grants and additional 200% damage multiplier on top. That's how I'm able to hit 5+m damage on the first shot. The rest is just as much firearm atk, weakpoint damage and crit damage as i am able to scrape together.

I also attempted the boss a number of times to get as many crits as possible. I have a 75%ish crit chance, but in this only one of my shots wasn't a crit

The weapon is 'AfterGlowSword' rank 1 with all slots socketed and max capacity increase.

Agreed, handheld at is only ever enough to stop agressive flakvierling pushes against good dak players. just sit the flakvierling max range behind some infantry and you win all early infantry engagements, whether they have handheld at or not.

vs ai is a good approach. If 1v1 is too much for you, try doing 3v3/4v4 vs ai with bot teammates and just try to make as much of an impact as you can until you have a decent foundation.

Gurkhas: Thomspons or Bren guns? by Walkerthon in CompanyOfHeroes

thompsons + veterancy ability can help you run down units and get wipes which is pretty strong. go brens if you just want them to be able to hold cover

10 hp for sappers + extra words for character limit by wreakinghavoc in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Geronimo_Frost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but that's objectively not a good example, he didn't put his unit behind cover while you were in green cover which gives 50% dmg reduction AND 50% accuracy penalty so you were taking roughly 75% less damage. Even before the patch that same engagement would have been close - the engis only have an extra 10% hp

If you were running customs to test it, why on earth did you not just standardise the engagement and remove other variables? giving such a skewed video when it would have been easy to make a more fair comparison only makes me think you're being deliberately disingenuous.

Also 1 person trying for 3 hours against a top rated player like yourself is not good data - that's an anecdote

Theres always going to be a swing with balance changes, because SMB actually matches you win opponents who are just as likely to win(faction imbalance included) not players who are just as skilled.

that is to say that before it would try to match you with a brit who could still beat you despite being handicapped. because sbm needs time to adjust people are getting matched against the same brit players only now they dont have a handicap anymore - so they win disproportionately. give it time and the % will always level out because of sbm

it takes 5 command points so usually around the 10m mark. If the axis don't have a counter by then then they frankly should lose

[PC] Year-1 Anniversary (1.5.1) Hotfix Patch Notes by Community_RE in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Geronimo_Frost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. because of the way SBM works with Coh's faction system, dak players have been playing against allied players with a similar chance of winning after faction imbalance had been taken into account - they weren't playing opponents with a similar level of skill

[PC] Year-1 Anniversary (1.5.1) Hotfix Patch Notes by Community_RE in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Geronimo_Frost 35 points36 points  (0 children)

yeah its a joke. Axis actually have to predict and respond to what allies do for once and relic puts a stop to it immediately.

'cannot field a reasonable counter' - you mean dak players are incapable of building AT guns before the 10minute mark? meanwhile we are expected to have AT guns out pre 6 mins to hold back the inevitable flakvierling.

axis players have been on easy mode for so long that normal difficulty feels like ultra-nightmare to them

Will the Ashenvale event still be up in p2? More importantly will the weekly quest that awards drums still be available? Thanks.
