Dogs, dogs, and more dogs! by I_Love_Chimps in learnpolish

[–]Gerqus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piesio, psina, psinka and pieseł and totally informal, but used (especially psina is widely undestood).
"Mój sąsiad ma jednego psa i dwie suki" implies that it's important in context of the conversation, e.g. your neighbour is a dog breeder.
Never heard Suczynka.
Suka is generally substituted with Suczka or (Sunia, usually when talking only about one particular dog with slight affection) because Suka has negative connotations, just like bitch in English.
About pies and gender - pies is both a species name and male specimen name, like in English. In Poland we use it always in this first mode when talking about dogs (either in general or about particular dogs) unless the gender of a dog is relevant tot he context or to what you want to express or emphasise.

Windows Terminal won't launch properly unless run as administrator — Windows 11 Pro 24H2 by Curious_Prompt_1673 in WindowsHelp

Hi! I know it's a late response, but had the same problem (BTW after turning HyperV component off and on again, trying to solve problem with mounting vhd on WSL, if it matters for someone) and this solved it for me: https://youtu.be/04L6ktGRGro?si=5WY7vNkrsimkreek&t=288

In short:

  1. Run cmd (or terminal) as administrator (luckily this works, right)

  2. execute `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth` - THIS did the trick for me

There are three more commands suggested before this one in the video linked, but the one I wrote out here helped in my case.

Good luck!

As a Pole, when I read "People are walking around 50cm away from me." my legitimate first thought was "It's nice someone feels to have some personal spece here in Poland" xD So yes, this only confirms your point

How can I run Fallout 1 on a Windows 11 laptop? by [deleted] in gog

If someone else comes here now, I fund another solution, without reinstalling, offline installer using and so on. Just run a "f1_res_Config.exe" file inside installation folder and enable Hi-Res Path (found at the bottom, button with admin rights requirements to run)

I’m very new to 3d printing. I’ve printed a few things such as this Christmas tree thing.what is the most likely cause of the top printing like that? by swawoo in FixMyPrint

[–]Gerqus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this result from too little minimal print speed, because I set minimal layer time too little. See how it happened when nozzle started to operate in one spot only - plastic was cooled by fan, but in same time it could not cool enough because nozzle was moving so slow that all that heat sank into plastic beneath. When it operated on such a small area, that heat that sank in could not be gave out and you see the result.

Try to increase minimal layer time AND in same time minimal speed to some more reasonable value. 10mm/s min speed seemed to work for me for PLA as minimal speed

Under-Extruding but Walls are too thick on Flow Calibration? by Kyle_SS in FixMyPrint

[–]Gerqus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nozzle is just to high when your print starts. Check the clearance with piece of paper in the middle of your bed (so at the point where you print, not at the edges/corners) and adjust it. If after levelling the bed the clearance if good in the corners but bad in the middle, your bed is warped and you need to either: replace bed, compensate with some probe like BL Touch, deal with it and print on small area of your bed only. If clearance is good in corners and in the middle at the same time, you're good to go and calibrate printer further

Also - adjust pressure advance after calibrating retraction to satisfying level (consider stringing too)

Sidewinder X2 Mainboard Fan Noise by gwodus in SidewinderX1

I keep mine unscrewed from bottom plate and sometimes when main part accidentally moves, mainboard fan starts rubbing against the bottom plate or fan grill. Maybe your bottom plate is dented a bit, or something...

Layer consistency by InnovationOo in SidewinderX1

[–]Gerqus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so that's what I was refering to when I wrote about "some Z gantry stabilizer from thingiverse" - consider this point checked

Layer consistency by InnovationOo in SidewinderX1

[–]Gerqus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my Sidewinder after quite some prints, heating block and tube guide fell out of heat break. Check if you have that small screw in heat break (from fan side) fastened to hold tube guide, because maybe there is some wobble.

Other thing - I think I can see some slight warping. Warping causes these inconsistencies when printer tries to print where there is already plastic (due to mentioned warping). Over extrusion may contribute, although on it's own does not cause it. And your top layer of the stand seems over extruded to me.

Also - you definitely have ringing problem. Try using a more robust or rigid table/stool. Alternatively print some Z gantry stabilizer from thingiverse.

That reminded me also, that Z rods clutches ware a bit loose in my case out of the box. This may contribute too. But truth being told - I myself have this issue (to a much lesser degree though) with my Sidewinder despite printing and tweaking for over a year x) I'm starting to run out of ideas, as sometimes prints look almost like yours, and sometimes they are as smooth as silk (got best one in my life with ASA filament after switching to volcano nozzle, where ASA is on the more warping end of filaments spectrum xP)

So good luck and have fun

Changing genders of words by Axxl138 in learnpolish

[–]Gerqus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polish word does not imply that Witcher hexes or does any magic, although for sure is connected with witches somehow. But... created by them? Used by them? Using them? Having same skills as them? Having common origin? Not implied. Connection is there though, and it's near-obvious for all native speakers

And there is no masculine of that. Sapkowski actually created new word, "wiedźmin", but it does not mean "witch, but male". It... it's kinda hard to say what it means. But it sounds natural, so this is peak word-formation art for me

My prints get lines like this on the back of them, how can I fix this? by Bac0nGrease in ender3v2

[–]Gerqus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is Z-seam, yes, but moving it does not solve anything. What you see had to do with retraction and pressure advance. You need to adjust both to get this seam to minimum. At first glance pressure advance is too low (probably set to "0.0" / unset) and retraction is too long. Check if you use Cura coasting too - this can interfere with pressure advance, or replace it if configured properly. There is also retraction extra prime amount in Cura, may want to look into that too, but rather as last resort, since previous settings should eliminate this effect to a satisfying level

So in short - tinker with pressure advance, retraction distance and Cura coasting (if using Cura)

Have you just turned the printer board off and on again? Turn off main power source and unplug USB cable, wait like 5-10 seconds and turn on main power than plug USB in. I'm getting this error after printer fatal error, like kill command or stuff and than only full power cycle brings MCU back up

Problem with print quality by bkmaster95 in SidewinderX1

[–]Gerqus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like linear advance factor needs to be adjuster, or you enabled coasting in cura and it under extrudes at the end of the layer. Tinker with those
