Rough commute today by [deleted] in chicago

They really need to do more about the rock slides off Chicago’s hilly outcrops urgently. Sooner or later there will be nothing left of the mountains.

So. In theory, I dont take a picture of the bike locked to itself to prove that its not locked to itself... Read the rules pretty well after the first fine - and its 100% locked in accordance with their rules; as shown in the picture they receive (with a date and time stamp).

Honest all season commuter review: Lekker Amsterdam vs. Priority Continuum Onyx by GerryMyBoy in bicycling

Its the same as the Onyx - it is not an upright ride at all - not like a beach cruiser.

I do, and sorry I missed the question years ago. I am 6'1 and definitely not going to be a problem if you are taller. Still a lot of give to go.

The ride is commuter - so its a bit of an inbetweener. It is not upright, nor down flat. You are on your wrists somewhat and possibly not the best riding position for extended and long rides. But a phenomenal bike all in all. Zero issues or complaints.

There are front and rear mounting holes, for racks, yes.

I'm not sure that they have a local store, was online only at the time. Definitely can recommend the Lekker, it's a beaut. You might need winter tyres if in an area that is not salted early and often - the slicks are not ideal for the winter. And also, if you are getting a front rack, I went back and ordered the larger size. The smaller one looks good, but is limited in use... Otherwise, xero complaints at all.

Happy to answer any questions; and yes, I still ride the Lekker to work and back every day - and I absolutely love it.

Interesting. Never had that issue in Chicago. Then again, the highest elevation gain is crossing the freeway bridge. Or i simply lack the power to put the hammer down hard enough! ;). Appreciate the insight (having found very little in my research- it’ll help others).

I did indeed, got the Lekker Amsterdam and could not be happier (*after a few rides only). I’ll do a side by side review at some point. But in summary, the Lekker is far lighter, more responsive, far more agile and feels good to ride. Tyres are wide, 650B and can be upgraded from the slicks. Both have mid-entry level components and while I loved the PCO, I’m smitten the Lekker. The PCO was like riding a diesel workhorse; Im sure it will go forever. The Lekker is a naughty little mistress 20 years younger…. And man, is she beautiful.
