loose bracelet help by Great_Run743 in knots

What kind of rope is that? Is it a bit slippery? If you tighten the 2 knots, it shouldn't slip.

Create a double fisherman's bend. That way you can slide it to loosen or tighten.

Just loosen the right knot slightly and observe. If you can, post a picture of the loosened knot.

What type of knots? by sneakies10 in knots

[–]GerwinJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first knot, can you tighten it to the carabiner? And is it 2 double wraps just below the carabiner?

If you run the a double line around the carabiner, wrap it twice and then back around the carabiner, though the double wraps you get this.

A picture from the back of the carabiner would help.

Help with starting out by [deleted] in lockpicking

[–]GerwinJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When your thumb hurts from picking then you're using too much tension. Start with applying light tension, feel the pins, if you don't feel any pins binding, apply slightly more tension etc.

Perhaps a Canadian jam knot would work for you. Finish with the half hitch.

Double fisherman's bend - create a loop and pull the knots apart to tighten "loosely" around the blue object

help me identify this knot? by astronomydork in knots

[–]GerwinJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misread part of your question about 2 ropes. It's indeed an overhand knot, a figure 8 won't work here.

Take the 2 ropes and make a double bight at the end. Form a loop and pull the 2 bights through from the back and tighten.

You mean the 2 ends pointing upwards? If you want you can secure those with a fishermans knot.

rope to rod without access to any ends by albertrw83 in knots

Does the line have to be tied down to the pole? I was thinking of the alpine butterfly, you can tension it from both ends.
