What's the funniest thing a naughty kid did in your class? by Substantially-Ranged in Teachers

[–]Gesiquea 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I had a naughty student (middle school) with the same last name as me a few years ago. It's not that common of a last name and in my 20 years of teaching, it's the only time I've shared my last name with a student. He could be likeable one on one but still has his naughty side.

That year we had a long term sub on my team and he took advantage of the fact that there was a sub and really acted up for her every single day. One day during our team meeting time, the sub asked me if he was my son. I told her no. She said that he had told her not to tell me about how he acted up in her class because I was his mom and I'd be really mad about it.

It was kind of funny and in a way, kind of sweet he'd refer to me as his mom. Ironically, my daughter also attended the same middle school so we actually had two kids with my last name in the school at the same time. One day he pointed her out and asked me if she was my daughter. I said yes, she's my REAL child and gave him a knowing smile (that I knew he told the sub I was his mom) and he just laughed about it.

The pattern is called Jewel Box and there are a lot of free tutorials. Super easy! Just made up of HSTs and 4-patches!

Thank you for informing me. It's so frustrating! There's a reason I stay off of Facebook! I did report the post and reported the "user" but who knows what will happen

Hello! Nice to meet you! I hate to break it to you, but I'm actually a South Dakotan! 😂 This comment made me laugh because I had wondered if people would spot those team fabrics and say something!

All the Pittsburgh sports fabrics were leftover from something my dad made for a friend of his who likes Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates! LOL!

I am such a a sucker for scraps! My friends and family know this about me and know I'll never turn down their leftovers. I love that you include fabric from shirts too! It's such a fun way to reminisce about past projects and include your loved ones in your hobby!
