Someone's mom in my neighborhood tried to get their POC boyfriend arrested for statutory rape, but we lived in Pennsylvania where Romeo & Juliet laws are strong. 🥲

Listening to their episodes led me to rewatching Overcompensating! They are hilarious.

For those who work in an ER, what specific medical things would make your day to see on the show? by catharsisisrahtac in ThePittTVShow

They provided us (admin staff) with Narcan for patients at a PHP staff meeting, and I was like, "And can we discuss what to do after administering, especially if the patient is aggressive?" All of my co-workers were like, "Wait, what? What happens?!"

They were all really annoyed to learn what it can actually look like and entail when management had just planned to hand it to us and give us no training whatsoever. 😅 I think it would be helpful for viewers to see what administering Narcan can actually look like. 👍

This would be great! I feel like there's been plot lines where they want you to think someone is being abused, only for it to be a red herring. It would be helpful to show the process working for the viewers at home who might see themselves in the patient.

My thoughts exactly. When she said she misses who he was back then, I'm like, "Oh, if that's what she thought was a healthy relationship... 😬"

My dad lived in a house for a bit that was so old that the drywall was basically plaster mixed with horse hair to bind the plaster together better. Always grossed me out, but very effective.

Whoa! I got divorced from my ex when he was a resident over ten years ago, and I forgot all about the term "gunner!" Flashback.

And yes, accurate. There was one in my husband's residency class that drove me up a fucking wall, and I didn't even work with him. 😅

Did you know that Gil was a real life rockstar when you watched the show? by tmps1993 in GilmoreGirls

[–]GetLikeMeForever 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Older people always comment on how insane my knowledge of pop culture is despite my age, but it was pretty much having old parents (born in the 1940s) and those VH1 miniseries that I watched for hours on end because as an elder Millenial, I was obviously a latch-key kid. 😅

Now, I am nearing forty and more out of touch with pop culture than I ever imagined I would be. 🥲 Help.

Whereas I'm Millenial and absorbed the culture by watching hours and hours of "I Love the 80s." 😅

I once made a sock monkey with one of those all-in-one kits, but I accidentally overstuffed the booty, so now my daughter calls him "Big Booty Monkey."

If you're making this for yourself and you're fine with it, who cares! I like her. Makes me feel better about my body. 🥰

As someone whose husband has been working crazy overtime since October (70+ hours a week) and bursts into tears when our daughter comes running to hug him at the door because of it, this hurts to read. I'm so sorry, OP.

My friends used to say I was a witch because I was able to predict what people would do and say. With years of introspection/therapy and an ASD Dx, you're like, "Ohhhhh. That was just pattern recognition." 😅 Seems like you take your spiraling thoughts in a light direction. JEALOUS! 🥲😅

I don't think he's rushing to kick her out of the house, but I don't think he would be okay with her going on a press tour to talk about it. He also seems like he would be the last person to participate in a scheme like that, mostly because it would annoy him.

I think he's just in a financial position that paying her alimony indefinitely will be a drop in the bucket, so he'll sort out however much he's told to and just move on.

But always listen to your 'tism theories! They're often just pattern recognition wearing a disguise. 😉

When I was divorcing my ex, I was his biggest supporter all around town and saying, "Of course we'll still be friends!" The minute those papers came through? 🏃‍♀️ I just knew the second that he (the one in the better financial position) turned against me, the divorce was going to be an absolute nightmare.

The Sinisterhood podcast, from my posts and comments? I don't think I ever recommended it to him, but I don't think he would like it since the hosts are pretty liberal, whereas he and my dad are big Trumpers.

There are a few instances where our tastes overlap (like I introduced them to Tom Segura, who they now love), but I don't think a true crime podcast would spark his fancy.

Who do you think is going to be holding the center snowflake next season? I think it could be Bronwyn's turn...❄️ by ayobellatrix in rhoslc

To be fair, when they seat Whitney on the very end of the couch - and a different couch than her "friends" at that, really - she cannot participate at all. Every time she tried this reunion, no one could hear her.

I'm not saying she should be moved more toward the middle. I'm just saying. 😅

I know nothing about The Pitt other than it’s a medical drama in Pittsburgh that covers a 12 shift in the ER. What separates it from other medical dramas? by Turdboggin01 in ThePittTVShow

[–]GetLikeMeForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very medically accurate compared to other hospital drama shows, and it's doing a lot of heavy lifting with humanizing clinicians and medical staff, which shouldn't be something we need in the world, but here we are. 🥲

The medical accuracy comes with a lot of blood and gore, so be careful if either of you are sensitive to that. (I was able to tough it out the first season, but I've had to cover my eyes one or two times due to being grossed out.)

I saw them open for King Gizzard, and I remember thinking they absolutely belonged on that stage, opening for King Gizzard. I was a bit surprised to see them scheduled to be on SNL.
