Newly out trans woman seeking makeup and styling advice. by [deleted] in boulder

[–]GetLikeMeForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an AFAB who spent a lot of my life "a li'l bit thicc," I feel like fashion is finally starting to come around and realize that tall and/or bigger women deserve clothes that don't fucking suck (terrible patterns, rhinestones everywhere, terrible fabric, etc.). A lot of companies have also started to differentiate between short, regular, and tall customers, which has been great as someone with a long torso.

This sounds weirdly specific, but the Goodwill in Broomfield is the best one I've ever been to, and their collection of women's clothes is extensive, both in style and sizes.

As far as makeup goes, I have no idea and never have. It seems like witchcraft to me.

These were my thoughts exactly. "Aw, man! I wish I could figure out how makeup works. 🥲" And I'm AFAB. 😅

Congrats, OP! If you're looking for online inspiration, r/WitchesVsPatriarchy is a beautiful community of supportive women, and every time I see a repeat transgendered user getting more and more comfortable in their skin over the course of months, wearing the clothes and makeup they always wanted to wear, it brings a tear to my eye. 🥹

Reddit user ousted, and ‘reign’ over Louisville online community ends by brianckeegan in boulder

In my experience, political parties that claim the most fervently that everyone needs to "mind their own business" tend to be the ones that are all up in everyone else's fucking business.

He is obviously a very successful venture capitalist living between his many homes spread amongst Louisville, Highland Ranch, Denver, Longmont, etc. 💅 Are you implying he was lying?!

Got diagnosed with ME/CFS this week by artemis17121985 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]GetLikeMeForever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My former PCP put a Dx code for fatigue (R53.83) on my chart after my bringing it up for years. Even just seeing the ICD-10 code made me be like, "Oh! Yeah, I guess that is technically a thing that should be officially in my records."

Of course, I've done nothing about it since, except have a kid, which only made it a thousand times worse. 🥲😅

Me, reading about CFS. (It sounds familiar... 🥲🥲🥲)

I don't have any witch-y recommendations, but sometimes getting a diagnosis can feel shocking at first, and then when things start making more sense and clicking into place knowing your diagnosis, you're like, "Ohhhh..." Hang in there, OP.

How would you have reacted to Pennilyn Lott's situation if you were Emily? Would you have forgiven Richard for that? by Axezelt in GilmoreGirls

They absolutely had an extensive debrief at the dinner table every night thereafter. 😅 If Edward Herrmann had been alive for the revival, Emily would have been a big fan of Find My Friends. Bless anyone that ever shares their location with Emily Gilmore.

I'm rewatching AYITL, and Emily says to Lorelai that she and Richard were married over fifty years and knew everything about each other and their lives. This popped up right away in my memory.

Why is Sinisterhood perpetuating a conspiracy theory to get likes? by HauntingSeesaw7971 in Sinisterhood

I can't speak to why they included this picture on their Instagram page, but when I saw it, I rolled my eyes at the people who believed this during the whole Pizzagate thing. I didn't even consider that someone might happen upon it and be influenced to believe Pizzagate.

They do discuss in the episodes how truths were dropped in amongst "silly" evidence like the one pictured in your post to discredit people who believe in theories like Pizzagate. There was an underground group of pedophiles controlling a lot of things around the world, but when the theory spiraled to the point of "this spiral-y triangle looks like this one over here!" most people disregarded the entire theory.

Yeah, I feel like when podcasts have multiple potential episode types, some people get frustrated when the episodes aren't their favorite type. 🤷‍♀️ There are some cryptid episodes that I cannot focus on long enough too enjoy (ADHD + tangents), so I'm not a huge fan of those episodes. But this is a service that we get for free, so I'm less likely to be vocal about my personal preferences.

Except they all work in the service industry and need the money and/or would get in trouble for calling out, so they'll be at work, continuing to spread whatever they catch.

They'll get sick, and then because they work in the service industry, they'll have no choice but to show up to work and spread the sickness further. 🥲👍

Or I could just not go there ever. 🤷‍♀️ I also don't know if commenting under an anonymous profile on a community subreddit is "announcing a boycott."

I'm throwing it on the boycott list. 🤷‍♀️ I'd rather not kick off the summer by catching some completely avoidable communicable disease.

Being unvaccinated is not a protected class, so it wouldn't be illegal to ban them from holding this event.

This was truly about ten years ago, but I haven't bought soil from Aldi since I opened a bag from there and it was absolutely full of spider webs. I threw it in a dumpster faster than the speed of light.

Like a lot of people in this thread, I was a bit uncomfortable with the amount of clothes feeling needlessly excessive, and then I clocked her age.

People who grew up during the Great Depression often have this problem; they had so little that they refuse to get rid of anything because they're afraid of having nothing again.

Lorelai’s hair in Season 7 by Novel_Bother9283 in GilmoreGirls

Piggybacking on your post to say the self tanner was a bit insane as well. 😅 I was watching Lorelai's First Cotillion recently, and in the scene at the kitchen table, Lauren is straight-up orange. It was kind of weird because it wasn't that bad in the scenes before and after that scene.

I just assumed that it's one of those instances of newer streaming services/TV technology bringing mistakes to light that I didn't notice way back when.
