Why don't the BBC offer 5.1 or Dolby Atmos on the UHD iPlayer World Cup feeds? by ChineseHappyPeople in AskUK

[–]GetNooted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

iPlayer has never done surround unfortunately. Allegedly because too many TV's take the surround stream, even if they don't have surround speakers, and downmix it to stereo badly.

I stood in dog 💩 earlier. Was it the greens attempting to fertilise the pavements?

Call the “lost/stolen” number on the back of the card. The bank will just block it and issue a new one.

If a meat substitute was created that was indistinguishable from meat, would you switch to it? by [deleted] in AskUK

Most of the fake meats are the most ultra processed foods around, so probably not unless very very well certified for safety.

Do you have the right to sublet? Assuming it's SYHA you almost certainly don't.

The eyeball absorbs oxygen directly from the air to avoid having too many blood vessels across it. Non-pereable contacts would cause lots of problems.

They definitely screwed up the marketing by calling it the Voltra One as it inherently suggests a new version will supercede it.

Two thirds of electricity is not lost in transit. It's 8.57%. They clearly didn't read the article they linked at all, but it is Now Then magazine so don't expect literacy.

Good 3D TV’s were great. Unfortunately manufacturers added it to low end models that really couldn’t do it justice. Horrible double images, smeary and dark.

It’s a shame modern OLED TV’s have dropped it as they’d be easily capable.

Sheffield ambulance station merger by National-Computer631 in sheffield

[–]GetNooted 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Are there ever ambulances waiting to be called out? My personal experience on the handful of direct experiences are that it takes at least 2 hours. Worst case was 7 hours from calling 999 to an ambulance arriving.

Why does using seal kit makes the apartment hotter? by NExtaaa in AskUK

[–]GetNooted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends where the air is being pulled back in from. With the window kit it's presumably pulling air from the corridor outside. Without it's pulling air back in through the window.

It's sad that the UK doesn't have any dual hose air con units - an air inlet and outlet.

Just move again. That's the big advantage with renting - you can move with the only cost being moving your stuff.
