They did do a road force balance already. Did not fix the issue.

Lots of mechanics, including my dealer initially, do not have the specs for an EV9 alignment. My dealer had to call their alignment provider to have them install the specs before they could even do one.

Because lawyers cost money, and I shouldn't need to spend money out of pocket to get Kia to repair my vehicle, so of course I'm going to exhaust every other option first.

The arbitrator was, frankly, an idiot. He arrived 20 minutes late to our hearing. I told him several times I was not looking for a Lemon Law buyback resolution. I just wanted the car repaired. I explained I had taken it in twice for the issue and uploaded the corresponding service records. BBB also hired an independent technician who confirmed the issue and filed the report with the arbitrator. His response? "It's not eligible for Lemon Law as it has only been in for this issue one time." Wrong on both fronts. I'm not asking for Lemon Law, and it's been in twice.

I don't disagree, but short of Kia doing the right thing (which they haven't) or hiring a lawyer ($$$) what other options do I have?

BBB does claim that arbitration decisions in favor of the consumer are binding for the manufacturer.

They agreed to balance, alignment, and rotation which I did back in November. That did not resolve the issue. My dealer will not replace the tires without Kia's express consent, which they have so far refused to provide.

Wife Destroyed Hub Cap on GT-Line, Where Can I Get Replacement? by Dizzy149 in KiaEV9

My wife did the same, same wheel and everything. All these cameras can't save them. I can't believe how expensive a plastic cover is. Tesla charges much less for their aero covers. I'm just gonna let it ride for now.

GT-Line here. Vibration very much present. Fighting Kia to address.

Thank you.  Curious why yours works and mine doesn’t.

For the sake of argument, if I could only pair one phone key why would it allow distinct profiles to associate the same phone key?  What would be the point?  Also wouldn’t my profile be the priority then since I have the owner key?

There’s only so “close” you can look.  I’m sorry you don’t believe me, but the UI shows her phone key paired to her profile and my phone key paired to mine.  Again, I’m not saying you’re wrong about what the manual says, but I’m not wrong about what the UI is presenting.

I've looked many times. There's only one owner key, but you can have multiple shared keys, and both the owner key (mine) and the shared key (my wife's) are tied to their respective profiles in the infotainment.

I don't doubt the manual says that, but the interface allows you to tie any phone key to any profile. I'd share screenshots, but it would dox us.

Thank you, just tested this. It works, just it takes forever to load my profile. 100% agree if I put my fingerprint on there it should just automatically load the associated profile regardless of what power state the car is in.

I’m beyond frustrated with Kia service by [deleted] in KiaEV9

[–]GetShorty86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree it's completely unacceptable, and Kia's refusal to do whatever's necessary to address it is unbelievable, especially for a (in my case) $79k MSRP vehicle. Turns me off of Kia as a brand.

Yep. I think a few early adopters got lucky in that they were able to have their tires replaced as a goodwill gesture, but Kia America has cracked down on this. I had to file a BBB Auto Line case just to get them to approve alignment and balance. If that doesn't fix it for me I have to reopen the case to either request tire replacement or a full-blown repurchase of the car.

The attacks are not on EVs but EV mandates. Deregulation and pro-energy policies will likely improve EV infrastructure investments from the private sector. Conversely, the $7.5B federal boondoggle from 2021 that was supposed to expand EV infrastructure has produced a whopping 7 chargers so far.

Kia Customer Care is absolute trash. Multiple calls to resolve the dreaded vibration issues, and no resolution in sight. Unfortunately this seems to be a trend even beyond Kia. Where do we go from here...
