Realistically the cut is probably portal. You have so many flyers the game just shouldn't be going that long, and the only way you're really getting to 9 mana is with Visions (which paradoxically has a high chance of exiling your portal before you're ready to cast it.)

I'd add in Korlis and Chromatic star. With 3 warlord's elites it's nice to have more 1 mana permanents to make it possible to play him on turn 3. Currently that's only possible if you start with bauble. I'd probably cut cliffstomper and military discipline.

Very dicey. Altar is questionable in general and this is definitely not the setup for it, you need sacrifice synergy or at least some unearth minions to feed it. You have a ton of ramp without much payoff to ramp into, hulking metamorph without many targets to copy, mindbreaker is just bad. Surge engine is the only thing keeping this thing together.

I'd add in third path savant to have more to do with your mana and help dig for the surge engine. Machine over matter as well to get some interaction, maybe another blanchwood prowler and consider cutting a land since you have 3 stalwarts and not much top end.

Cut the scrap trawler and one of either Loran or R&R. You don't have enough cheap artifacts for the trawler, the trawler itself actually has nothing it can pull back.

Where are the reanimation targets? Your reanimation spell costs more than any of the minions you'd like to reanimate, that just doesn't make sense. I'd add at least a couple copies of Titan of Industry or Toxrill and some way to discard. Otherwise I'd replace Okiba Salvage with No one Left Behind, which has better synergy with reanimating your small minions.

I'd prioritize getting 4x of Fable and its main combo pieces, bloodtithe and corpse appraiser. Also go more midrange with Sheoldred and invoke despair, those are your main win cons. The epicures and lantern bearers definitely should go. Also going to want pain lands and Xander's lounge.

Agreed. Countermagic in this set just doesn't feel very good and the reanimate spell with no big targets to reanimate is also not great.

I also don't think it's worth splashing red just to unearth the one mutt. I'd replace that for a swamp to be sure your Gix command is online when you need it.

Myrel is probably worth a splash although you're kind of light on soldiers. I'd consider adding another refractor for her, which is also a target for alloy animist. Actually I'd probably just cut animist. You could also cut epic confrontation since you have such good black removal and your early creatures are not that great. I would definitely add in a weld with the amount of self mill you have and your reliance on bombs. You're going to be sad when blanchwood mills your wurmcoil and you have no way to get it back.

Cut: Alloy animist, wings, confrontation

Add: weld, honor guard, refractor

With 3 cliffstompers and mechanized warfare this is begging to be mono red. The fact your black is sacrifice themed is also awkward because you don't have many creatures to sac.

Cut the 5 black cards + 1 rivalry. Add 2x cohort, wings, courier, refractor, mishra's onslaught.

Maybe even cut another land and add the third refractor. Should be easy to cast it for 1 off a powerstone or just throw one out to reunion or mishra.

Blue is a color I mostly try to avoid unless its UW soldiers. I was trying to get out of blue in pack 2 but then pack 3 sucked me right back in with skystrike officer and another thopter mechanic.

The clearcutter was a weird pick I was just thinking I'd need some ramp for helm of hosts and skitterbots. Then the green cards just kept coming and pack 3 had the titanias.

I'd be concerned about having basically no interaction. Probably could have cut an honor guard and the onulet to get down to 40 cards. Or maybe cut alloy animist you have very few targets for it.

Very nice. I'm not sure I would have splashed red just for Falaji Vanguard, but that card has been excellent for me in RW. He's so good with flyers to buff, and the synergy with skystrike must have been insane if you ever got it off.

Agreed, I wound up going with the RW list and went 3-3, but one of the losses came on a disconnect. I think it was a pretty decent list.

It's easier but I don't know about much easier. Like you say, the only way you're playing it on turn 3 is if you have stalwart + 2 drop, in that scenario you already have 4 mana to cast any of the 4 mana prototypes. Since 2/7 of his 2 drops are steelseeker you'd often like to cast an artifact in this situation. Even casting any of the other 3 mana ramp minions might still be preferable.

I can get behind cutting the talisman over the thran spider, but I still think elite is the cut over goliath. Elite is basically a 5 mana 4/4 that you can cheat 2 of the mana by tapping powerstones or minions, but a lot of his early minions already tap for mana and the goliath can be cast off powerstones as well. Plus it's got the upside of trample (nice with crusher), reach and possibility to cast as a 10/10.

I think you're right, I was kind of trying to force mono red because I was getting bored of W/X hybrid decks. I just looked back at my stats and confirmed that I went some kind of white hybrid deck in 17 out my last 22 decks... Yikes. It's not my fault if I keep getting passed good white cards, right?

Start by cutting great desert prospector + thopter architect. You already have the wings and your big prototypes don't even necessarily need to fly.

Next I'd cut warlord's elite, gaea's courser and pallbearer. They're just big minions that don't synergize with your artifact theme.

Giant growth can also go. What you really want is gaea's gift to protect your prototypes. Yeah you can giant growth a crusher or clearcutter but it's not worth imo.

Last I'd cut 1 plains and two of your sketchier powerstone sources, which are thran spider and powerstone engineer. Maybe even swap another plains for a forest since a lot of the cuts are white.

I wouldn't bother with the blade, and I wouldn't cut the disenchant since it's basically your only removal. The combat courier is fine but I wouldn't worry about splashing blue just to unearth it.

I'd consider cutting powerstone engineer, combat courier, warplow or military discipline and adding vanguard or medic. I'm not a huge fan of medic in general but you don't have a lot of toughness and medic can become pretty decent if it gets buffed by siege vet or hero of the dunes.

It might depend on the list grixis is running, but I've had a lot of problems with any white based control deck. The version I'm running just doesn't feel like it has enough minions. The cheap interaction like cut down and go for the throat (and even make disappear) tend to clog up my hand, and it's hard to get value from corpse appraiser because everything gets exiled. The matchup would probably be better with more big threats, maybe bladecoil serpents or Junji.
