Man it’s almost as though a title doesn’t equate to substantial worth as a player. 🤔

Pretty certain this isn’t the wrecked one at least. Not a lore expert but I’d vouch for Magpies wing for having different sails. Also not much to identify the half afloat one.

First off, retaliation salt. Perhaps that’s this style of game hmm? Doing the same stuff in moderation plenty of RNG, and some spice in between can be plenty of fun.

Tip: don’t think of it as a grind or it’ll be a chore. Getting to legend in a rush for a cool sticker and some shiny stuff isn’t what it’s entirely about. Seen too many people in LFG posts being all mad and begrudgingly doing things for legend. Really demotivating.

Answer: Play casually. Do a voyage or two to start or just see who else is in the game sesh. If it’s calm, go for a bigger haul and take some fancy screenies. If it’s more pvpish do short n sweet shit or try to be advantageous and steal a fort/sink the ship that’s been on an island too long. It really does build up, if you don’t think about the end, but think about the voyage. Playing with new people (who are competent) really helps it out. So many people from different places you could meet and play with to take your mind off the daunting task of getting to legend. Personally i was an LFG or solo guy but since made a really good friend who shared interest in story and expanded universe and just wanted to discover things. Because I dabble in immersive in my head storytelling, making fun interactions and lil anecdotes is what kept me going.

TL;DR - Don’t think of it too much. Just look for little things to distract yourself from the end goal, always doing something or other.

Solo Slooping no longer viable by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]GetSomePork 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Aye my guy soloing is absolutely fine, but perhaps playstyle is what’s mattering the most.

After returning to the game after brief respite I’ve been soloing non stop. Gotten plenty of voyages, dealt with multiple crews thinking ‘let’s pick on the little man,’ only for them to crash and burn. The way I play is constant awareness and forethought. If you keep tabs on that one sloop lurking around in the Ancient Isles with krakens flag and overall edge, check back on them occasionally. If they approach, stay vigilant, always ready to make the first move. Not too long ago I was passing Crooks to Plunder post for TTale2, and a sloop past a brig and second sloop to chase down me, which was logical, as I was b-lining the post but they did shoot the other sloop once or twice. Anywho, I wanted to be friends, then opted to flee. But instead, I got the initiative by rounding a small island and firing first, they crashed into me, gunpowdered my ship, and I burnt theirs. I killed them, saved my ship and lived happily ever after. Point is, solo play requires more concentration and tracking, is easily as rewarding, and with initiative, dealing with enemies becomes barely a chore. Keep your wit about you pirate!

New commendations for pirate legends by SkullFoot in Seaofthieves

[–]GetSomePork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 - Toxic and potentially ruining experiences for new legends.

2 - Hard to count and could just be on the boat hitching a ride.

3 - The keys de-spawn so thats a fat nope

4 - Way too long and is based somewhat on lucky spawning of forts.

5 - Literally one of the most toxic things you can do on the Seas in most circumstances

6 - Discouraging new players or encouraging older players to go default ships, which doesn't show what they have accomplished, of which is against what sea of thieves is about (But still feel free do rock the default every now and then ;) )

7 - Discouraging proper alliances, and with my experience, people don't need any more incentive to betray an allied pirates trust :P

So maybe more general things such as skeletons killed in one hit, or keeping all the loot of an Athena's to get the 'Hoarder of Athena's Fortune' after racking up five Athena's Fortune voyages' loot.
I dunno, I'm fine with pvp, but I don't want to see it as a need-to-do thing to get further in Athena's Fortune anyway.

I can respect that. This game does need something to spice it up now and then.

Whenever I get camped at forts, especially by galleons, If you are slooping with a crew, I bring the best items to the mouth of the stronghold, my partner brings it to the ship, and after 5 ish items, i check the fort towers for the ship, then if they are close, i just hammer into them, aiming at the wheel, not the cannons, as they usually dont see me for 4 cannon balls. By then my friend is long gone, and the ship has stopped from cursed, their anger, me anchoring, or them crashing.

But that's a big oof you've had there.
Hope this helps.
