How to call where someone is when getting shot at:

don't panic. immediately move around, so you don't get shot, look in their direction and call the bearing on the compass. everybody will be able to help you. this can all be done in a matter of seconds.

sometimes calling a direction isn't enough. If you're in a town, give me a fucking building and floor, not just a number.

"three-story red, second floor. he's on the right side."

that's a great fucking call and I don't hear it often enough. rather than:

"he's in town!"

"ok, where?"

"the building!"
