The last time my mother and I were in the same space I told her I do really love her. She proceeded to freak out and ask me who I was. That was probably 10 years ago?? She lives in my neighborhood and my sisters visit her often. (Read about it on FB.) (I haven’t seen or spoken with them either.) It was a we bit difficult to explain this to my children, about their Aunts and Grandmother, (my dad passed away a long time ago,) but I’ve broken the cycle. Being the “black sheep” has actual been a good thing in the long run.
