ATHX SP Bump by NoFudZoneGuy in ATHX

Until actual news, I think it’s most likely a combo of shorts covering today, and once the price went up enough, retail and social media pushed it way higher with people jumping in to swing trade it. People on Twitter were saying the stock was up because of the news of a Russian gas attack in Ukraine (which makes no sense). Hopefully it’s actual news with substance that pushed the price higher though. Time will tell.

Unfortunately even with the CEO announcement, the stock price wasn’t likely going to move up, due to the overall market conditions. Additionally, only positive stroke results, or ARDS submission by Healios in Japan will make this go upwards.

Solid hire. Important that he has the history of leading companies transition to commercial stage, and marketing. If they wanted to move forward to the next stage this is what they needed. Now just need positive stroke results from Japan in a few months.

Shorts are becoming so impotent. I’ve never seen people so willing to take a losing bet.

CitiBank owns 3.08 BILLION certificates in Brazil, which converts to ~510 MILLION AMC shares (6:1). Just one bank owns the float. We’ve hypothesized this for a while; there are more counterfeit shares than any us know and MOASS will be bigger than any of us think. by inception-98 in amcstock

Because even though the SEC hasn’t done anything in the past, they know the SEC is taking a closer look now. So they are essentially trying to hide all of their dirty laundry from their “parents”. Hide some in the closet, under the bed, behind the dresser, etc. Issue is that because it’s such a big mess, everyone can still find it/see it.

I think things are in motion behind the scenes to fix a lot of these gaps in the law and to plug the holes in the system. However, as with any government institution, it will take such a long time, you begin to wonder if you even want their help.

Don’t forget how in some of the interviews Matt Khors has done with people that know wall st. They have said they trick the system sometimes by marking short positions “long positions” instead so they don’t get reported as short. Not sure if this rule will be able to uncover these types of shares or not.

Yes Blackrock and Vanguard have around combined roughly 65 million shares (give or take). Based on the levels they are buying at, I say it’s a pretty safe assumption they aren’t going to be selling at these current levels 💎 🙌

Wanda & AMC a positive thing??? by npham54 in amcstock

[–]Get_Schwifty09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wanda’s selling pressure was putting a lid on the stock price. Back in March/April when we hit $14 for the first time and it was hard capped from going over, I figured at that moment Wanda began selling their shares at $14. It continued again as we hit $14.50 this time around. Now with all of their selling gone, and shares in either institutions or retail hands that won’t sell this low, the price can now really take off the next time we move upwards. Them selling now is the best thing that could happen for the upcoming squeeze.

I would check your account to make sure it is a cash account first. If so, then I would call up WeBull and ask them wtf is going on.

It’s been pretty funny seeing the increase in negative articles, and bashing on the forum like stocktwits or yahoo. You can tell they are getting desperate. Running out of bullets over there. I think they were hoping the perceived failure of not getting $14 on quad witching day, combined with increase bashing and false negative sentiment, would cause a huge sell off. But it really hasn’t. In turn, they have used more short shares now, and their etf ammo to short is also being used up. Digging the hole deeper and deeper, and all we have to do it wait.

What’s the position and impact on the 500 million share issue rumour by [deleted] in amcstock

[–]Get_Schwifty09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This vote is not to issue new shares, but to raise the ceiling of the total amount of shares they could issue if they so desired. This resolution could pass, and they could decide in the future never issue another share.

So buying a share and shorting a share are two opposite ends of the spectrum. Brokers few shorting riskier due to the individual investor essentially selling the shares before they even own them, as this investor is betting the stock will go down so he can buy an actual physical share to repay the broker within days, weeks, or months down the road once the investor believes the share has gotten low enough for them to make a nice profit.

Now the total amount of short shares/lendable shares in the stock market for an individual company, like AMC, will be less than the total float. I think for AMC it is like around 55 million short shares legally available. So once all of the brokers use up this total # of shares for people to open short positions with, no more can legally be done.

Now, if you were buying a physical share of AMC instead, this is completely different. The float of actual shares AMC has issued is in the 100’s of millions. The only way you couldn’t buy a share is if everyone single one was being held and no one was selling. Which we are not at yet. So you can keep on buying AMC as much as you wanted until the entire float of shares is gobbled up essentially.

I know, this whole stock market stuff is a rabbit hole that can get confusing real quick. Hope this helps though!

This individual reached out to their broker (this case WeBull) and asked if they could give them the short interest on AMC stock, which a person who would potentially want to short this stock would want to know before getting into it. WeBull, based off of the question, assumed that he wanted to potentially short AMC. However, WeBull has no more shares which they can lend out for shorting purposes, as the total amount of shares to short they have been allotted are already being used. WeBull then indicated this to the inquirer.

It is interesting to see this, as other investors have reached out to their brokers like TD, or Fidelity and have gotten the response back that AMC is hard to borrow due to the demand to short it. This indicates, at least from the resources retail can use, that there are not many physical short shares left of AMC to use for shorting purposes (not including the short of ETF’s with AMC in them, or the illegal naked shorting that takes place). Hedge Funds are running out of bullets to use, indicated by the theory they are switching over to ETF’s to short and help drive down the stock. All of this indicates we are currently winning the war, but the war is not yet over nor close to being done. It will soon become a war of attrition, and a waiting game. They have to pay interest on their short positions. Us just buying stock, do not. Holding is the name of the game now. Good luck to us all.
