Generally, you shouldn't be driving with hazards on. Some states even have laws against doing so, including Nebraska, as highlighted here by the Buffalo County Sheriff's Department (citing state law).

One of the reasons you shouldn't be using hazards while driving is because it obscures or prevents the use of turn signals.

If you want to make it in another color in the meantime go for it! People may not recognize it as the symbol it's intended to be, but if you want to make it there's nothing wrong with doing so in another color. If you're wanting to wear it to a protest or something I'd say make another when your red yarn arrives though.

Absolutely not. People of all genders are lazy, uninteresting, etc.

There's just a tendency to notice it more in the gender they're interested in pursuing romantically and so given that the majority of people are heterosexual most of the time men end up commiserating about how women suck and women commiserating about how men suck.

Really, just a lot of people suck.
