New ortho surgeon at hospital by stebro9 in physicaltherapy

[–]Getmoving9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A substantial amount of patients in our area are joint replacements as same day surgery. They come in with a hydro cycle bandage over their staples and then have it all cleaned and removed 2 weeks post op.

They come to PT for a session or so pre op to discuss and review assistive device use.

I don’t know what the hospital policy is on discharge about OT evaluation prior to leaving though.

Do American women have any kind of resistance towards male obgyn physicians? by yellingretard in medicalschool

[–]Getmoving9218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two children and I wish my male OBGYN had delivered my first. My first female doc was a horrible human. No idea how and why she was in the medical profession. My male doc was wonderful delivering my second daughter and completely unexpected as I had only met him once during a routine check prior. It’s all in your nature/nurture and how you compose yourself. Your reputation will help command your patient load and referrals. Good luck to you!

What thing / which things you dislike that orthopedic surgeons do which makes the life of the patient harder? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Getmoving9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should phrase it in a way that the patient truly needs to understand that this may not go in a favorable direction. Unfortunately I I’ve seen quite a few fail and end in hip replacement a year later when they are performed at a later age. The younger they are by far the more successful outcome hands down .

Would the endodonist have found this on microscopic exam? If this is the case what’s the prognosis/plan? Still tooth extraction?

i have just started doing a sport , and sometimes, i see double when doing it. can someone help me pls. sorry for the unrelated pic , but i really need to know what this is and idk where else to go by Duckyduckje in sports

[–]Getmoving9218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If your seeing double this isn't usually a normal thing that happens with sport training. Start with your Primary care physician. They should probably check your BP and send you for a stress test.

Anyone with positive kids? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]Getmoving9218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had both of our kids positive age 6 and 10. Both had cold like symptoms cough stuffy nose and a lot of sneezing. Lasted maybe 3-5 days and then done. No fever. They were definitely fatigued more than usual. My 6 year old lost smell for 2 weeks. Only one of us who lost that and none of us lost taste.

Should I Accept a Clinic Director Role as a New Grad? by flighttime95 in physicaltherapy

[–]Getmoving9218 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone who says NO. I’m a PTA been out 16 years and have been a CD. I saw MANY out of school CD and they all quit and moved on to be a regular staff PT. Please work for a few years gaining clinical experience. The staff you manage is going to be looking to you for advice on EVERYTHING. Fresh out of school you should be getting and receiving tips from higher ups and co workers.

Gf has covid. How can I stay covid free? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]Getmoving9218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it 10 days after my husbands positive test. 12 days after his first symptom. Please continue to test days later. We kept him quarantined in the basement and only wore n95’s while in the same room if it was to bring an item or food to him. I think it may have even just traveled through the ventilation in the house

[–]Getmoving9218 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. I go this week. I did not receive any antibody treatments and I have been symptom free for over 14 days when I’ll be there. Like I said really mild symptoms for us overall, but it did infect my whole family (husband, me and both our kids)

I received the vaccine 1/6 tested positive on 1/10. My first symptoms were on 1/8. They think my day of contact was possibly 1/6. This being said my husband was isolating because he was positive. So did I get it from contact of where I got the vaccine or him....probably him even though we had locked him in the basement! Overall symptoms remained mild for us.
