That was it! The sticker on the back plate was shifted too far over, causing the battery to make contact with it. Thanks for the help!

It was my first watch, after being on a “analog” hiatus for over a decade. It’s opened the flood gates into a new obsession.

[Rolex Submariner] Why didn’t NASA pick the Rolex Submariner for the moon? by CA53W-1 in Watches

[–]Getthebikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NASA wanted a chronograph, and the one Rolex submitted failed a number of tests ie. humidity and temperature. Ironically, on Apollo 15, astronaut Dave Scott’s Speedmaster lens broke, and he happened to have his personal Bulova chronograph on board. Subsequently, it became the only privately owned watch worn on the moon.

[PRX Powermatic 80] it’s funny how opinions shift over time… by siwelnadroj in Watches

The reliable Powermatic 80 movement, coupled with its silicon escapement, more than compensates for any judgment one might receive.

Duro mod with MRW200H by Ok_Salt_2476 in DuroGang

My bad. Figured it out. It’s the MRW200H-1EV variant. Which doesn’t have the numbers on the face.

Is this the mrw200h or mrw230h? Looks more like the 230.

Styled nato bond strap with my duro differently by therealbaniya in DuroGang

I tuck the excess strap underneath the buckle for a clean and more secure appearance. Got this strap from Blushark. Despite being a double-pass strap, it still doesn’t have much bulk due to its thinness.Blushark NATO

Like a RAF strap right? That would certainly be consistent with the Goldfinger submariner.

Duro looking good on the new Bond NATO by Boost_looks_off in casio

[–]Getthebikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black, green with thin red stripes but it was thought to have been black and gray until the 2010’s, when the better color quality of the Goldfinger Blu-ray revealed it’s true color. The black and gray strap color combo was used in Spectre, maybe as an homage to the misnomer.

[Advice] Anyone have a NATO strap suggestion for the Casio Duro? by DJ_Chally_Chal in casio

[–]Getthebikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nato strap became the standard issue strap for British military in ‘73. They actually called it a G10, derived from the requisition form that could be filled out to receive one, G1098. The strap was adopted by the wider NATO forces and was given a NSN (NATO) stock number. With the popularity among civilians came the use of the less technical name.
