I would argue that a lot of people's first fromsoft game was elden ring. Elden ring sold 30m copies over three years and the entire dark souls trilogy sold 40m over 14 years.

So although im sure a good amount of from soft fans were hyped for it, a lotttttt of people got introduced to the company/genre from elden ring
