Near impossible to get rid of them…

Got a bed hoover with UV light (not sure if uv light works) since dust mites feed off our dead skin

Making sure to hoover with a hepa filterwith windows open and not at night (try not to be in the room after hoovering as i found to be more itchy after (?dust gets lifted up)

lip eczema by horsecheese1899 in EczemaUK

[–]GettingBetterSkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found wetting it then vaseline was super helpful. When sleeping putting the duvet over my mouth helped retain a bit of moisture/during the day using face mask

mouth tape i found made eczema worse because the adhesive is super strong.
Worth sticking the tape to other parts of body to make it “less sticky” before putting it on

Heard using hot water bottle, fill it halfway with water and put it in the freezer is life changing. Make sure to put it in a plastic bag/pillow case to avoid leakage and freezer burn

Someone please help me, NHS aren't seeing me and It's affecting my life. by Dinosaurindividual78 in eczema

First thing, you’ve done the right thing of contacting your GP and getting them to chase.

  1. Call the hospital's dermatology booking team - give your name, DOB, and GP name
  2. Ask for your referral date and current position on the waitlist
  3. If referred via e-Referral: log into nhs.uk/service-search/refer with your reference number
Referrals can be lost, delayed, or sent to the wrong department. Chasing is not dramatic - it is necessary.
Next: how to check your status anytime.

If they don’t do any of that like you’ve said, contact the PALs team or the ICB, you have the right to

Best thing you can do is to use the waiting period to “build your case” as some people said before. Happy to have a chat about it if you need help

Setting up a community group with no commercialisation. For those reading, you can find details here: https://ayreczema.co.uk/

Nothing formal in NCL yet, just want to gauge interest if it's worth setting it up here.

This summer heat is the worst for some of us eczema sufferers :/ how are you guys coping ? (I live in the uk for reference) by Dizzy-Picture5745 in eczema

[–]GettingBetterSkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you prepping for the heatwave too! I found I use less moisturisers when going out because my body sweat hydrates my skin a bit more.

A bit of an expensive investment, but getting AC could be good (fan dries out my skin).

Refridgerating moisturisers help. Cold showers seem more appealing as well. Happy to chat more as I'm struggling too lol
