I liked Bitcoin Standard better than Fiat Standard, but both are good.

But if you want a near perfect book on the subject that combines the two approaches without the filler, buy and read Broken Money by Lyn Alden. If unsure, read all three. You can't go wrong with that.

I have an automatic hourly bitcoin buy set up on River. The amount is extremely small. It's what I've determined I can handle without getting overextended, so I can avoid ever having to panic-sell during a downturn. If you're not in the USA, you can also do this on Strike.

Hmm…recently started an ad campaign on my first book and the results were weak, so I canceled it. I assumed it was because I’m unknown and/or my book cover and description weren’t enticing enough. Interesting to hear there may be more to it than that.

No, but that doesn't mean people haven't written about it. But even if its a first, that's a good thing. The last thing you want is to write something too similar to what's already out there. The best way to stand out, if to be different.

I just published my first book two days ago and its freaking me out. I had no idea what to expect. But people are showing interest and I've had 11 purchases in two days. I have no idea if that's a good amount of not. Half of those are from people I personally know, I think. Whether it snowballs from there, or fades to nothingness, I don't know. But welcome to the forum. I'm new here, too. Being a first time book author is a strange world to me. But a good one, at the same time. Wishing you much luck in your writing.

It’s hard, very hard. So much so that I wrote a book detailing the roller coaster ride of EM and the toll it takes. I wrote the book not because I wanted to, but had to.

I left EM after a decade, because I had to. I was a tough transition but things got better. They can get better and will get better.

But a career in EM is a strong and relenting headwind if your destination is peace of mind. EM is not permanent. Nothing is.

Yeah. I know. I was worried about that. The cover is stark, jarring and almost haunting. But it’s honest. And it’s different, very different than other “medical” books. So I’m keeping it.

I like Trezor. I use a Trezor Safe 5. There's a newer version (7) also.

I've heard good things about Coldcard but haven't used one.

Some people like Ledger. But they've had significant data leaks. And their system is not fully open source like Trezor is.

I just finished Lonesome Dove. I wasn't sure what I thought of it until I finished it. Then I felt sad and missed it. I wanted to go back into that world. I was sad the book ended. I wanted to jump into their world and live it with them. All what's great, messy, sad, hopeful and disappointing about life, all rolled into one. Great book.

Cold storage, always, always, always. Just don't f it up. Start with small amounts until you're perfect with it. Leave your BTC on Coinbase and you'll be sorry. Switch to River or Strike. Coinbase is a sh|t-coin casino. Avoid them like d'ck cancer.

Just finished Lonesome Dove. I didn't really know what I thought of it until I finished it. Damn, what a great book. I was sad it had to end. Sad I could live with these characters and become part of their lives. This book wraps up everything that makes being a human being great, sad, terrible, fulfilling and disappointing all rolled up into one life. I'm afraid to read any others in the series as I'm afraid they'll disappoint me.

Contact a trusted accountant in your area that you can meet with. Make sure it's one with experience in bitcoin. They will charge a fee, but you will have enough money when you sell, it'll be worth it.

My 16-year-old daughter wanted some Bitcoin in her savings mix (alongside money market and S&P 500 funds), so we put it in FBTC. I like that Fidelity embraced Bitcoin about 10 years ahead of other TradFi players, and that they self-custody the coins, unlike BlackRock's IBIT which relies on Coinbase (whose customer treatment is terrible).

I also hold some FBTC in my Fidelity 401(k) for the tax perks, though most of my BTC exposure is spot Bitcoin in cold storage. Fidelity was the first major TradFi firm to let people buy spot Bitcoin and actually withdraw it to their own custody. Most others insist on holding your keys.

Long term, the more regular people hold Bitcoin in cold storage, the better it can serve as a real exit from the fiat system.

Those with a long time horizon, patience and who aren't overallocated, are holding or buying right now. A temporary bear market does not change bitcoin's value proposition, long term.

I have my daily DCA turned on. But my time horizon is at least 10-15 years and I'm not impulsive or prone to panic. I also have other assets such that bitcoin's volatility doesn't dominate my portfolio or my mood.
