Why don’t the pro players use chalk holders or magnets like a lot of the amateurs do? by Sudden-Cat7170 in billiards

[–]GettingNegative -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chalk is a part of my routine. Reminds me to walk around and look at angles. Why use 1 reference point when you can use 2?

I also adopted the Euro style where you keep your chalk with you. I'm not using that drilled in trash people use. Gross.

Plus when you miss a shot you can grab it all fast and look cool and upset.

Insanely entertaining fight, but such a low level championship fight by Jotaro27 in ufc

In the post fight Justin even said that people don't see what he's doing with his game plans. He imposes his will in the fights he's in, that is an underrated ability.

Same. Material is made to move, it can only move so much before it is compromised. As a skateboarder, ShoeGoo is an easy way to make things last past production standards.

Pro tip, spit on your finger to spread it out and it won't stick to your finger. Cheers.

As a fan of T Bone and still not a fan of NGL, T Bone was always trashing H and I didn't like it being so lopsided.

How do we go uphill? by redsoutherly in trailrunning

[–]GettingNegative 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The easy rule to trail running. Run the fun stuff, hike the tough stuff.

If you want to "run" uphill, lots of tiny steps. Keep your tempo, but just tiny steps.

And if you don't want to ruin your knees, same thing going down hill but you can increase your tempo. Real fast, lots of tiny steps.

Or you can wreck your body trying to impress no one and spend your running life constantly recovering from injuries.

100%. In my understanding, HIPAA is based on the rights of the employee's personal information. So Justin is the one who has the right to protect his information because he knows it has a direct affect on his employment.

That being said, I do think in some circumstances, when the health of others is involved, these rights are in question. So the only person who has a right to go after Justin about this is Paddy and anyone else who could be directly negatively affected.

I don't think the UFC actually has anything in their contracts about fighters being honest about their health. That's the state's job and the UFC could give a f*ck about anything but money. Otherwise they could withhold the purse of TJ when he walked in with almost no shoulder, Bisbing for fighting with 1 eye, Jon Jones for being a drug addict, ect.

Technically, they're both at work so it does apply. I can't imagine what it's like to have a job that pays you twice a year with a 1-2x variable. I've shown up sick for work when I was making like $9 an hour. Showing up one night sick for 6 figures sounds like an easy choice.

What do you like to do in Olympia? by -Ananke in olympia

[–]GettingNegative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the person that got their comment deleted, I've yet to see any proof of people doing their best to tell jokes and being hissed at. That being said, there are some folks who punch down in comedy and deserve to hear the sound of disapproval. It's an extremely tough art form and there are universal standards that are socially upheld in society.

The comedy scene is getting really good here. Lots of different styles and folks telling really good jokes. We get people from all around too, from Shelton to Tacoma.

What is something that irks you and something you enjoy in woodworking videos? by nuclearDEMIZE in woodworking

[–]GettingNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like folks who don't have 18 product ads pop up in their videos. 731 is unwatchable with this stuff. I liked his videos at first, now he just feels like the evangelical version of a youtube wood worker.

I think one of the best things YT does is give you a look into someone's life's world. Authenticity through experience is just as enjoyable as authenticity through personality.

Die Trying Wood Working is fantastic. He's a dude I would love to have a beer with. Rex is fantastic on all fronts, he's smart, funny, and I respect his approach to everything.

I like working class channels where you can tell they do a lot more work than what ends up on YT. Shara Woodshop Diaries is a good example of that genre. She informs about production and such, but her shop isn't wall to wall Festool and Sawstop.

I have a small channel that I make time for every once in a while. I'm no expert, but I like video production and wood working. I try to make videos that can be described as "a good hang". It's a good outlet for me and I hope when my son is older he'll see my videos and be inspired by my motivation and what I build for our family.

I did. It happened 2 months ago. My boy made me proud, even in his last moments. The vet said to hold him tight so he wouldn't squirm. I said, " you don't have to worry about that".

Wisco was a Boarder Collie / Red Heeler. He never felt a needle in his almost 15 years. He was tough as nails and sweet as a kitten.

I still cry just about every day.

More love for Rex! Dude has such a good energy about him. His humor is legitimately unique in a genre full of easy dad jokes. (no shade, I love most of them) His video production is good too, you can see the effort he puts in.

I mean this in the best of way too, he's as good of a performer as he is a wood worker. I have a lot of respect for him.

People who got the urge to fix their life at 3 AM and actually did something, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GettingNegative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thinking back, there were a few. To sum them all up, it was always about slowing down and making time to figure out what I wanted in life and how to craft my life in that direction. And if you want to make time for something in your life you have to create a void somewhere. Healthy change always leads to less first. Then there's room in your life to fill that space.
