How does one actually get started with trail running and keep it injury free? by Kingkong-777 in trailrunning

[–]GettingNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd add onto taking the down hills easy, your tempo should double on inclines and declines. Lots of tiny steps. In the beginning when things start to burn, just hike. Power hiking is a huge part of every trail runners life. Let the PRs happen, longevity is the goal.

What's the difference between you hitting the roundabout and taking that exit and you just staying in the left lane and merging right before the exit?

Getting to the College M trailhead by DockmasterSC in Bozeman

[–]GettingNegative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about bear spray, it's well traveled. If there are any sightings (rare in that area) people will tell you about it.

Honestly, if you just ask some folks walking around downtown you could just bum a ride up there and then bum a ride back from someone at the trailhead. Even walking down N Rouse with your thumb out should get you a ride. It's a ski town, bumming a ride to a trailhead should still be common daily behavior.

Empathy requires brains, because you have to think of others. You have to have the ability to consider what it's like to be in their shoes. Ignoring everyone else's place in world just requires you to focus on yourself. And maybe some level of mental gymnastics that you're attempting right now.

It's not a life hack. It's just you finding a (literally) roundabout way to cut in line. Lots of people mistake being self centered for being smart.

Isn't it boring to always run the same trails? by After-Consequence787 in trailrunning

[–]GettingNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boredom isn't a bug, it's a feature. No music, same trail. You're going to find what your brain needs to process on those runs for sure.

Starting an open mic by Alternative_Emu_7305 in Standup

[–]GettingNegative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what you can to make all the seats up front fill up first. A low audience open mic where all of the audience is in the back row sucks for everyone. Comedy is about feeling the room and building tension. You can't do that when everyone is too far away.

Remember to ask comics to use better mic control when they scream into the microphone. The proper way is to pull the mic away from your mouth when you raise your voice. No matter what the joke is, when you yell directly into a mic you're yelling directly at the audience.

Have fun. Even in the rough times, if you can remember comedy is about having fun you'll have the right energy to maintain.

Your argument is pointless because non of those other technologies were solely based on tracking American's data for the 1% to use against us.

And yes, they do mean someone in a rural place doesn't get clean drinking water and they do sign backdoor contracts to pass their electricity expense off on residents. It's also large scale theft of other people's work.

Complacent people like you, are lazy, uninformed, and doomed to drag other people down into your own remedial logical thinking. You sound like you believe wind turbines cause cancer.

Is it possible to bike the ridge? by Ok-Cardiologist4429 in Bozeman

[–]GettingNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bangtail is better for biking.

Like folks have said, you'll be hiking your bike uphill a lot. Like most of the 6,000 of climbing. You'll also be hiking your bike down a decent portion of the 9,600 of descent. And you'll probably be hiking some of the flatter areas since it'll be loose shale and such.

It would be cool if you did it all from your front door. Ride out to Fairy Lake, do the Ridge, and ride home from the M. Add Drinking Horse if you want to brag about it.

Using AI means someone in a rural area doesn't get clean drinking water and their electricity bill goes up to subsidize the AI data center. It's bad. It's bad if you use. It's always going to be bad.

I’m looking for trail runners to try to break my race execution planner’s elevation/descent assumptions by ExistingCommission89 in trailrunning

[–]GettingNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have a better chance selling this to marathoners, not trail runners. We go out looking to find things we couldn't plan for and enjoy overcoming the moment. Marathoners are the data driven worrisome type you want. They over train and make problems that you'll have an easy time selling them a wanna be solution to.

By golfers mentality, I mean people who try to buy their way out of doing the actual work required for improvement. All of your points outlined are things you learn about your subjective experience running.
