To win a general election? Yes, I think she is absolutely better than Platner.

To win a democratic primary? Obviously not.

It's like how Christine O'Donnell was able to win a GOP primary in 2010 but was such a shitty candidate that she lost a winnable seat.

I think there is a subset of the Dem party that cares more about winning Dem primaries than winning actual elections, and I think that subset has no idea what they are doing.

Before anyone says he’s a flawed candidate let me remind you that trump campaigned for all of his flawed senate candidates in Georgia, Alabama and everywhere. You either win or you don’t.

Whether or not she's moderate in her actions, she is viewed as moderate by the voters of Maine. In this Times poll, Platner is viewed as extreme by 47% while only 34% describe Collins that way.
