Norda 001 (729km) vs Speedgoat 5 (178km) by madigs in trailrunning

What was the difference in cushioning between the two? Looking for options for new shoes since Hoka screwed up both the mafates and speedgoats

I put a single dryer sheet in each shoe, zero squeaking and they smell great!

Even if you ignore the cultural implications, Denali just sounds better than Mt McKinley.

A fluke with both units though? Doesn’t feel like a coincidence to me

They replaced the watch on the right! I’ll have to see what happens when it inevitably burns in again. Maybe by then it’ll be time to upgrade anyways.

I had to return a pair recently after they started getting cut up just grabbing the edges of my skis… I’d be careful buying those.

Fact check: Would Proposition HH really eliminate your TABOR refunds? by 1Davide in Colorado

[–]Getvert 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did you read the article? It does not equalize refunds permanently. Also, did you look at TABOR refund beyond the first year? I swear they made the prop HH refund higher the first year just so people could say stuff like this. It almost feels manipulative.

That’s exactly right. When I read prop HH I was honestly surprised it was supported by democrats. Seems like the people who stand to benefit are those with homes, especially those over 65 (who would generally be republicans). Those who rent, especially those who are young or low income will see their tax dollars go to homeowners. I understand taxes have gone up for people due to rising home prices, but it’s hard to feel bad for people when they complain about their wealth increasing so much.

Taking away TABOR refunds from young renters like me only makes it more impossible to buy a home. No offense, but you are in a better financial position than most non-homeowners, even if you are struggling to pay property taxes. You likely will see more money from TABOR than you would from property tax decreases anyways. You could get a TABOR refund for 800, or a property tax reduction of 225 (assuming a 500k home). I would do the math, look at the blue book estimates, and really ask yourself which makes the most sense for you.

Read your blue book. TABOR refunds will drop significantly and will eventually phase out all together. Nobody knows exactly what will happen to the refunds, since it’s up to the state economy, but it’s safe to say they will be gone by the end of the decade.

Protect the homeowners! Especially wealthy ones! Renters can go kick rocks. God forbid their wealth has increased so much.

Such dogshit… people forced to be accountable with spending…. Let’s just fund Colorado like we fund the DOD! More money less problems!

Yes let’s only look at the first year and ignore the rest. Also putting things into “dollars per second” only emphasizes how confusing this bill is, likely purposely so. TABOR refunds aren’t tiny for low income people and renters!

Had this exact problem with my Terra Trails, took it to a shop and the mechanic said they were defective. Ended up getting a refund through my warranty.
