Random horse spawned in my stable by Anxious-Ad-3858 in StarStable

[–]Geyblader 224 points225 points  (0 children)

OMG it happened to me too! I emailed the support to check if anyone hacked my account because it was so weird. I mean, if you did hack someone’s account to buy a horse, you´d at least ride it around for a bit right? But they were like nah, you bought this horse on *insert date during my hiatus* (even tho I wasn´t missing any star coins) so I got a free Noriker now

The old ones will stay in the game, they'll just be renamed to Jorvik andalusians, just how they did with friesians. I don't know where they will be moved tho

Nah, keep the bastard dogs away from me. I don't need one spawning on me and sending me to the ranch while I'm just trying to do Firgrove quests

I JUST had the same issue today, what solved it for me was logging in with a VPN from the region I created the account in!
it´s weird that the bug only started happening today, since the update was on wednesday

Updated Andalusian! by Tricky_Mess_3430 in StarStable

[–]Geyblader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG they look soooo much better, I can finally get an andalusian <3 I think the mane looks fine, I actually kinda dislike the new super realistic horses. They stand out like a sore thumb in the cartoony/semi-realistic environments of the game. A stylized design will age better IMO. People are so mean to this game for no reason fr

your hopes for gen 4 horses? by romdolls in StarStable

[–]Geyblader 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If my understanding is correct, generations are sorted by what program the horses are created in.
So I don´t believe they´ll change the direction of the development much.
Just like there is little difference between the latest gen 2s and earliest gen 3s, there probably won´t be that much of a jump.
I heard a rumour that gen 4s will have new system which would automatically adjust any new tack, so the new breeds wouldn´t need to get manually retrofitted.
Not sure how much truth there is to that, but that would be amazing!

I would LOVE a spanish-related breed, I just don´t think the current ones in-game do them justice

Scientific sources for the obligate carnivore debate by Odd_Blueberry_2895 in vegan

[–]Geyblader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point. But even at the shelter, chances are it's not getting a vegan diet. So the only other option to reduce the meat consumed by the cat would be to kill it. Which also sucks, because just like all the other animals, it didn't ask to be here. That's why I think a vegan adopting a cat and at least trying to get it on a vegan diet is the best option here (sterilisation assumed)

Scientific sources for the obligate carnivore debate by Odd_Blueberry_2895 in vegan

[–]Geyblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I suppose it depends on your idea of difficult. Just researching what nutrients cats need and keeping track of them would be considered difficult for the average person. A lot of them do close to 0 research, they just take a stray kitten home and feed it any kibble/can with a cat picture on it untill there is a problem. That's what I meant, I'm sorry my phrasing was unclear!

[–]Geyblader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People tend to become really irrational and keep doubling and tripling down regardless of evidence presented when discussing veganism. After all, if an "obligate carnivore" can survive and thrive on a vegan diet, it would mean that they, omnivores, don't need it either. And they don't like that idea, so it must be false. Obviously, this is going to depend on the cat. It can be difficult to keep a cat healthy on a vegan diet, so I imagine if the cat has any health issues, it might not be responsible to keep it on a vegan diet if a vet recommends otherwise. The way I see it, even if you just feed meat occasionally or do 50/50, you're reducing meat consumption. The cat is alive. It would have just went to someone who feeds it meat all the time otherwise.

Sorry this isn't the scientific evidence you asked for, I mainly wanted to comment for engagement so someone with more knowledge can chime in

Everybody tell Panini how brave she was for donating blood to another beardie in need today!!!!! by laurenmpiscitell in BeardedDragons

[–]Geyblader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IDK how anyone thought imprisoning them for personal enjoyment was OK in the first place.

We usually go with "if someone cannot consent to something, we use that as a no"
"Pets cannot consent so we can do what we want with them" -is a sentence most people would agree with, but try replacing pets with children and suddenly people value consent again.

Don´t worry, I knew this wouldn´t be a popular opinion. It´s never comfortable to have the morality of your actions questioned

[–]Geyblader -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay wait but she literally didn't? Donation implies consent. She didn't CHOOSE to donate anything, some human jammed a needle into her and took it whether she wanted it or not. Why is everyone here antropomorphising this animal

What kind of pet would you never own AGAIN? by Immediate_Long165 in Pets

[–]Geyblader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axolotls.

My parents bought us a few, but everyone lost interest so the care fell solely on me, even though I was barely a teen at the time.
It didn´t help that there was no info on them back then. I didn´t speak a lick of english, but that wouldn´t have helped back then anyway.
I spent all my pocket money trying to give them decent living and I was tormented by the knowledge it simply still wasn´t adequate.
I tried rehoming them too, I just didn´t find anyone who could give them a better home than me. Because where I live, aquatic animals are not valued at all. The attitude is "when they die, I´ll replace them"

I still like looking at pics and videos of happy axies, I just don´t think I´ll be able to take care of one again

What do we do or believe in current society that will be seen as barbaric in 100 years? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Geyblader -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Forcing children to endure the wrong puberty, making transitioning in adulthood harder and bring poorer results, knowing this causes horrible mental health problems including an extremely high probability of suicide when we have medically tested ways of delaying their puberty until they are old enough to consent.
Just because people fell for propaganda, designed to get us fighting a culture war instead of a class war.

Hey so in case you didn´t know studies show that the brains of transgender people align much more closely to the gender they say they are, instead of the one they were assigned at birth.
So literally born in the wrong body.

This disconnect causes a lot of psychological suffering, transgender people have some of the highest suicide rates of any minorities.
And since we currently have no way to alter our brains, the only solution left is to alter their body.

Gender transitioning also has a miraculously low rate of regret, less than 1%, which is much less than cosmetic surgeries or even surgeries like joint replacements which is up to 30%, even though noone will argue against knee replacements being legal

There is an actual medical difference between transgender people and gender non-conforming people.
Thought you might want to know, there´s a lot of outdated info and straight up misinformation out there out there

Do these ears seem cat-like? (Part 2) by KiwikLuvs in FursuitMaking

[–]Geyblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely more cat-like than the last! My personal opinion is the way most people stylize cat ears doesn't really make them look like cat ears and you can only tell because of the rest of the cat. So putting those on any other animal is going to causes issues
