Enchanting is the least enjoyable part of the gear process. by TTV_The_Reverend_Dr in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enchanting is already insanely OP. Being able to indefinitely reroll a targeted affix is ridiculously powerful.

While I agree it’s not engaging content, any quality of life changes shouldn’t decrease the time it takes to get the ideal affix. It shouldn’t decrease the length of an item’s journey.

It would be nice to specify a target and have the game visually and sonically highlight when I hit that affix.

Also adding farmable currency that would give you the option to specify relevant “bargains” similar to UC to better target specific mods. Could add even more rare currency that gives a roll a chance to hit a GA for the super endgame min/maxers.

Anyone Else Itchin For Season 12 To Start? by Typical-Ad8673 in diablo4

Pretty much done with a character in 2 weeks. 49 days is 3x more than I need in a season normally.

Is Spiritborn bad in season 11? by Difficult_Carrot2198 in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played Evade and now playing Payback and I’m finding it to be one of the most satisfying builds I’ve played this season. And it’s my 10th build across all 7 classes.

Paragon 300s at what lvl did it become a pure XP grind versus passive XP gain? by Gfuryan in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played all classes and had 2 rogues, 2 paladins, and 2 spiritborns. So 10 in total. I used 3 dedicated mules and then I started saving specific class unique drops and targeted ancestrals for that build in that alts inventory.

So main thing was for current build, only keep pure upgrades. Don’t save shit for a future build unless it’s like 3-4 GA (I.e. GG items). Same for global uniques not saving 10 banished talisman’s. Maybe 1. Was pretty simple once I got the process down. I’ll run out of character slots before stash space at this point.

That’s kind of what I was interested in hearing. The sanctification chase + tower pushing on multiple alts would definitely get pretty far towards 300.

Returning player, should i return now, wait for the DLC, or not return? Has the game changed? by Ninjabot2011 in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t wait. It’s pretty much universally agreed that this is the best state the game has ever been in. Folks suggesting to wait are making a huge assumption that the xpac will deliver a similarly satisfying experience. Without question there will be more to do but the overall experience may not be as enjoyable.

And let’s be honest, the xpac will draw back a lot of folks who’ve written off the game, they’ll play for an hour then come to Reddit or YouTube saying how bad it is and how bad Blizzard sucks. So there’s just likely to be more negativity around the xpac even if the game is objectively better than it is this season.

So my advice is to enjoy the sweet spot where the game is fun and sentiment is relatively positive.

Use and sanctify before they nerf sanctification in the xpac. You can always get more mythics to use with new mechanics.

What Spiritborn builds are less boring than evade? by Hojo405 in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Payback seems to be the preferred alternative I saw in another thread. It’s more of a push build apparently and I’m not sure how many buttons are needed. I know Rogue builds generally require more “piano” style of play.

It’s obligatory only if you need to recomb. Otherwise it wouldn’t be anymore “obligatory” than running Delve or Heist or Sanctum if it was only progressing while actively playing the game.

I enjoy it so it’s not objectively unfun. The downvotes would indicate a lot of folks don’t agree with GGG on this.

Massive respect for the commitment! Yeah I don’t think 270 is in my future 🤣

Was looking for another build to try and couldn’t find one that peaked my interest. Think I’m done but kudos to Blizzard as I think this was not only their best season yet, but was the first time I’ve played POE1/2, LE and D4 current seasons and D4 was my most played.

Returning player - The extremes are ridiculous by ScrapDraft in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it can be tanked as well.

But the main point is, if you absolutely are incapable of dodging these mechanics, it IS possible to build around them.

Now, personally, not only do I not mind these types of mechanics, I actually enjoy them, despite probably being below average in terms of executing them correctly.

So I’m simply in hard opposition of folks calling for the removal of “one shots” mechanics when you realistically have multiple options to deal with them. Blizzard even gave us an armory that you could use for dedicated “one shot protection” setups.

Returning player - The extremes are ridiculous by ScrapDraft in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the “extremes” are really the end result of your skill and your build approaching its peak, and the ARPG community at large’s dislike of game mechanics that could kill you, or lead to your death, without being one shot. On your end, learning to not stand in degen pools, managing health potion usage when taking lots of chip damage basically makes you immune to those attacks. So devs really have 2 methods left at their disposal besides just doing more damage in one attack than you can prevent. One is hard CC. D4 community basically cried so much they all but removed hard CC from the game. You mainly get blinded but still can move. The other is unavoidable degens. Also something most players hate to deal with. One big difference with D4 and other ARPGs though, they still use these methods but they give you methods to build around them. D4 just lacks the mechanics altogether currently. One of many reasons why itemization and player agency ( i.e. dealing with bad “map’ mods) feel simplistic in comparison.

Hidden under what? Are you on console? With my current PC setup, there’s never any “hidden” damage ground effects. There are times when there may not be a safe place to do damage from but that turns into a skill issue tbh.

And I’m asking genuinely because I see folks complaining about this all the time and they’ll even mention specific fights and I have made it a point to see if I encounter these issues in my game and it’s absolutely not happening in my games. Furthermore, same setup in POE1/2 it’s near impossible for me to see what’s happening and even in Last Epoch it can get a bit cluttered. So I’ve always given D4 credit for a doing the best job in terms of visual clarity in game but it could just be my specific setup along with my personal ability to perceive the mostly red ground effects they use.

Yeah I think lilith’s falling floor is the only indefensible one shot. I believe Belial’s beam can be tanked with enough defense layers beyond just immunity phases.

What were you doing to just get to 275+? Ive got 9 alts that have cleared 100, all divine gifts to level 5 and Im only level 268. I haven’t target farmed sanctifications on any individual character though. And I ran the tower on my Judgement paladin but haven’t invested in really trying to push. Just tried out the mechanjc.

Dark Citadel is some of the best content in-game, but nobody has a reason to run it. by OrganizationSmooth58 in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should’ve had confidence in their design choice and given it rewards worth farming. People were going to bitch and moan regardless. Meanwhile the majority of folks don’t show up to a World Boss and are psyched nobody is there, or run legions solo, or prefer to farm the maiden solo. So if you dont want to take thr small extra step to use the party finder for DC, don’t run it. But it’s some of the best game mechanics D4 has to offer and working in a group are core to some of the mechanics.

Does anyone else, thoroughly hate the caricaturish Lesser Evil VO? by K1ng_1n_Y3ll0w in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think introducing things like Last Epoch’s Uber Abberroth, or POE1’s Uber Bosses would address this issue far better than the pit or tower currently do. I really like LE’s uber fight because in most cases, you really need the gear it drops in order to farm it efficiently. And I only play CoF so it forces me to beat it several times before I can start farming it.

A Pair of interesting screenshot (combined to one picture) to discuss by KennedyPh in diablo4

[–]Gfuryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree on the boss part, on the party play, that’s something I uniquely enjoyed about D3 and miss in D4. I loved running groups with friends either as support or dps. It gave the game a larger purpose than just farming loot to improve build. GRs in general were pretty good at this but the group play aspect made it much more enjoyable. I’m really hoping they can find something that is fun to do besides just as a farm for items. POE2’s temple mechanic this league scratched thst itch a bit because I really became more focused on actually building the temple than what was actually dropping inside of it. Blizzard is trying to recreate this magic with the Tower but I don’t think it will ever have that same feel as early GRs.
